"A heart that's full up like a landfill, a job that slowly kills you."
Hyde Velez is an anti-social investigative officer working in Cloverport City. Terminally exhausted, they seem to find little pleasure in their work as they are consistently assigned cases pertaining to MAGICALS, individuals with superhero like powers. Hyde seems to have little regard for them ... despite secretely being one himself.
Hyde can often come off as unapproachable, any conversation with him being short of words. What he does have to say normally comes off as callous, he just sees it as getting “straight to the point”... though this could just be due to the fact that he’s quite awkward socially. However, he’s still human and has a soft spot somewhere in there. A detective’s job at the end of the day is to help those in need after all. It’s hard to fault honesty but Hyde seems to have no problem voicing his opinions on most things.
What he lacks in social skills, he makes up for with his sharp wits and clever mind. It’s hard to hide the facts from him as he’s quite the skeptic, especially in the pursuit of justice. He tires of nonsense but despite this, he seems to have a streak of mischief to him. If you were to crack his uptight shell, his smirks and dry humor would start to bare face.

BACKGROUND
HISTORY
Hyde was born and raised in Cloverport City. Though with a family that did their best for him and his younger siblings, living in the city’s slums was hardly the high life. In this environment, Hyde had to grow up quickly, taking over much of the housework whilst their parents had to work, taking up part time jobs outside of school and, most importantly to Hyde, studying for a good job. They were always quite studious however a lifestyle like this didn’t allow much time for friend making. Hyde wasn’t about to preoccupy himself with such things however, as he had his goal already; become a detective. His area was no stranger to crime, if he could help pick out the criminals then he’d be happy.
However, he had one stepping stone … the Magicals who seemed to achieve this with 5 times the efficiency. His views on these crime fighters were always filled with skepticism and bitterness … little did he know that he’d become one himself.
