“Hi, Tina Dehavilland, I’m with The Morning Star. Yes, like the actress, but it’s not spelled the same.”

Tina is most often set in the 1930s, where she is a reporter for the newspaper The Morning Star. Her specialty is reporting on high society… and high society gossip. She is exceptionally charming and perceptive, and is not above using these talents to get the information she wants. She is also a huge flirt with very little filter, and will flirt with just about anyone.

In most stories, she and Rose met through the paper, and they did date for a while. However, their relationship fell through for a few reasons. First, the two were so busy that they didn’t have much time to give to a relationship. Secondly, Tina’s penchant for gossip never sat right with Rose because the truth is what matters to Rose the most. And thirdly, Tina’s interview methods and lack of filter while on the job always rubbed Rose the wrong way. It was these last two points that ultimately ended things between them, though they remain close friends… and occasionally something more. The major exceptions to this are the modern-day college AU, where she and Rose split because of Tina always overstepping when it came to Rose’s boundaries and Rose not knowing how to enforce them, and the racing AU, where they had an explosive breakup after Rose crashed on the track and ended up in the hospital.

Tina is shrewd and an enigma to most, even to those she is close to, and can easily take control of most situations. She’ll soon have you wrapped around her finger if you’re not careful. But she is extremely loyal to those she cares about, and she is absolutely the kind of woman you want on your side.
