Personality

The Conqueror of the Depths! The Wave Weaver! The Captain of the Sea Nymph!

Evera is a renowned amongst the pirates that frequent Bewea as trusted leader, so much so that her crew actually believe her capable of taming the storms and billows whilst on the roughest of seas. Whilst her fame does not quite reach as far as the heights of Aditone and its aristocracy, you can be certain that every merchant, sailor, and barman in The Town knows her name, as well as the feats of her crew. Some of those who overhear such tales from the crew and generally dismiss them as drunken ramblings. These drunken tales largely tell exaggerated and fabricated legends, the Captain is over 6 feet tall and is "built burlier than the burliest man you've ever seen." However, she is quite the opposite. But to any of those who have ever voyaged with Evera themselves? They know the truth behind these stories, and which of them are no joke. Some of the local legends regarding the Captain are missing many details, watered down versions of the full story of the adventure.

Evera is a woman of average height and an athletic yet slim build, proud of her prowess in battle with her shear speed and hard hits. Dead serious and calm. Sheโ€™s an incredibly gifted fighter and is very analytical, every decision is made with a quick, yet careful thought. Years of nonstop fighting and hardships at sea has left her emotionally hardened, only becoming more expressive after consuming excessive alcohol, or whilst in the company of her crewmates. She doesnโ€™t appreciate being called by her name by those she deems a stranger, or untrustworthy, and wonโ€™t refrain from using force to ensure they refer to her by a title.

Yet despite her fierceness, Evera canโ€™t help but have a soft spot for the less fortunate, often bringing spoils from her travels as gifts for those worse off. She doesnโ€™t clarify why she does this; she just states that everyone can fall into such a low point and wants to help steer those currently there towards a brighter future. There has been word that she has welcomed some into her crew as cooks and cartographers, deeefinitely not because she canโ€™t stand to do either of those tasks.

Backstory

Despite her infamy, she wasnโ€™t always treated with such a high regard. A woman on a ship? Such a thing would curse the ship with bad luck and could only bring disaster to the crew. Evera wanted to prove them wrong - and she did. Before the first night had seen the dawn, she had seized control. With previous captain defeated, the crew stood shocked before their new captain. This is also the fight that led to one of the only recorded injuries Evera has ever sustained. Before finally falling before Evera, her opponent attempted a lethal attack. It ultimately missed its intent, but did fatal damage to her left eye, blinding her permanently. How her ear was damaged is still unknown.

Another legend of the infamous Wave Weaver tells a tale of ferocious fight between the crew and a sea creature, resulting in the loss of their first ship. Fortunately, a friendly face was in the area and managed to rescue the crew within a few hours. This extended time in the sea whilst suffering with injuries cause immense strain to certain parts of Everaโ€™s body and resulted in the spread of sea curse.

โ€œYou want to know the truth behind the tales? Hahaha, my crew tell the tale, adding in their own little details though. Buuut, if you were to ask me if I'm afraid of what lurks in the depths of the seas, I'd tell you I have no fear of them. If anything, they should fear us.โ€
