Elise

Born  before the Change occurred, Elise enjoyed a few years as the previous form of human with her younger sister Nicole before everything changed. Like many of the people around them, the Change brought vast changes to their lives. While Elise and Nicole gained the traits of cats and other abilities, their parents and much of their family perished. The two young sisters were left in a very chaotic and upturned world that was fraught with danger. Elise did what she could to protect Nicole and keep her childhood intact. Humans are very good at adapting and that is what they did when dealing with the crazy new world with its monstrous additions and occurrences. Things slowly settled down, as much as one could in this new world. Though the two siblings were brought into a foster home, Elise was the one who raised Nicole, taking on the role of mother. Once Elise turned eighteen, she left the foster home with Nicole and moved them into their own flat. They both continued their schooling but Elise had to give much of her own childhood and life to give Nicole a chance at a happy and healthy childhood and education. The older cat took on more than one job to make ends meet while continuing to pursue her own education at a slow rate. Recently, Elise has finally graduated with a nursing degree with the highest honors possible and the increased opportunities afforded by the job allowed the duo to move into a better flat and residential area. The hard work Elise has put into her goals is paying off. However, while she dearly loves her little sister Nicole, Elise bears deep wounds from the events brought about by the Change and it has affected her person. Elise deeply misses her deceased loved ones and is somewhat regretful at having to lose her childhood and innocence so early on. But most of all, she is very strict with herself. Elise rarely lets her true feelings show and has locked away most of her negative thoughts and feelings, due to needing to stay strong and happy for Nicole's sake (and her own). She has difficulty with expressing them and opening herself up to others and can be said to be quietly suffering inside of her strong-willed exterior...
