2. Hiccup and toothless

Hiccup and Toothless

though the two are an inseparable pair, they did not start out as such. Even so Toothless is not one to ever speak to make small talk. Especially about his past, though it is clear he shares a deep connection with Spade. As well as a few of his own secrets.  Yet Hiccup speaks often enough for the both of them when they have guests. So it is primarily Hiccup’s history this report will focus on. 

Hiccup was a rather normal cyclot kitten if on the scrawny side. Defiantly on the weaker side physically but a lot more driven to understand how everything around them worked.  He was often left alone in the woods around his village as he enjoyed his privacy. Most of his peers not interested in the odd discoveries hiccup often explored.It was no surprise he was one of the first cyclot trapped in one of the strange boxes that started to appear in the woods around his home. Hiccup was a little scared as he was cut off from the outside word and even tried fiddling with the strange thing for the few hours he was trapped in it. Up until these strange tall creatures appears out side the cage. Hiccup trembled with fear as he felt a sharp pinch in his side.

lucky for hiccup and the other cyclots gathered from the village these humans had a far more civil interest in studding cyclot then some of their fellow researchers. More interested in seeing if cyclot could be condition to be work an companion animals.  Hiccup awoke in a soft bed rather than a cage.Hiccup was a under the care of one of the older scientists a man in his late 50’s early 60’s. Hiccup latter learned these creatures where called humans. He was also given the name Hiccup by the kind scientist. It was an odd couple of weeks as Hiccup grew used to his new home having free range of the apartment while the human was away. He taught himself the meaning of all strange symbols on all the papers the human seemed to leave everywhere. As well as the interesting puzzles toy the Scientist often gave him.  There was plenty of new things to focus on in the apartment. Hiccup was more then happy to keep trying to figure out how everything worked. He even got to see some of the other cyclots of his village as they sometimes came over with their own humans. Hiccup was happy with the odd change of his life.

Then a new cyclot came to live in the Apartment. A large black monster of a cyclot, pure black, large wing, and a green eye that seemed to stare through Hiccup.  The scientist explained to Hiccup the cyclot name was Toothless and would be a new permanent member of the apartment. At first Hiccup was scared of Toothless but he soon learned he had nothing to be afraid of.Toothless was Large but he was also gently and very silent. Often just following Hiccup around the Apartment and helping Hiccup reach stuff out of reach on higher selves. They were sometimes taken out of the apartment by the Scientist something Hiccup did wonder about. Yet there was not anything he could do get Toothless to talk about what was outside the apartment. Toothless never said anything. Hiccup almost thought there was something wrong with toothless, but he knew toothless wasn’t dumb. Toothless almost always knew what Hiccup was up to before Hiccup even knew he was being watched. Bringing what mod material Hiccup would need for project before hiccup could geta chance to go get it himself.  Hiccup just accepted Toothless wasn’t a talker. Yet that didn’t change anything with their growing relationship. 

It was one normal day that Hiccup got to leave the apartment with his human carried down a white hallway to a small white room with a funny bed. The scientist set on Hiccup down the bed. The man wore a mask across his face. Hiccup doesn’t struggle knowing his human would never hurt him. Even as he feels a sharp pain in his side. Hiccup slowly falls asleep. When he wakes up back in his bed his front paws feel really funny. He looks at them and gasps instead of one solid stump he now as many little stumps. It confuses Hiccup as he wiggles them. Fingers they are fingers. Just like his human! This opened Hiccups world even wider. Now empowered with hand he was better able to manipulate the world around him. Able to work with tools and write. It was the happiest few days of hiccup life as he grew able to create and build. This led to Hiccup learning his abilities the ability to make a shield around him making him immune to all things around him after an incident with a small soldering iron. Working with his tools and ability hiccup was happier than he ever been.

Then it came to a scary and sudden end Hiccup is awoken in the middle of the night by yelling. Loud angry yelling. Toothless is on edge standing rigid his ear perked up. His head turning to a sie door where the yelling is coming from.  Hiccup has no idea what is being said he was still learning the spoken language of humans but by the tone he knows it’s not good. Toothless stiffens as his head turns looking at Hiccup. “Stay” Toothless speaks the single word as he slips out of the apartment. Hiccup is terrified. What is going on to make Toothless speak. Even if it was just one word. There is suddenly the loud roar of a man and two loud bangs. There a moment of brief silence as there another scream and an un holy roar of a beast. Hiccup feels a shockwave go through the compound. Suddenly it starts to rain inside. Hiccup trembles on the bed until Toothless comes back into the room blood on his wings. Through the door way Hiccup can see flames.  Toothless picks Hiccup up by the scruff and run going to a small hidden door Hiccup could never open before. Slipping inside Toothless runs down the hallway. Behind them the sound of fire and destruction fades. As the tunnel opens up into a cave. and beyond that the open woods. Toothless keeps running ignoring Hiccup confused whimper behind then Hiccup see the glow of a large fire.

Toothless and Hiccup where now alone in the world. Toothless taking on the job of caretaker and protector for Hiccup guarding him as the two moved to get as far away from the ruins of the lab as possible. It was hard for Hiccup to come to trm with knowing his human was dead. Killed by the evil leader of the labs as Toothless told. Yet Hiccup still had Toothless so he would be strong. The pair traveling by both fight and through the heavy forest. Staying away form any signs of humans. Yet eve with how careful they did try to be there where accidents. Hiccup lost his leg in one of the many hostile trap set by the humans seemingly trying to recollect those that escaped from the labs. The metal teeth of the trap cutting his limb cut clean off. A small blessing as it was easy to quickly catalyzed by a puff of Toothless fire. Topping blood loss and infection. Hiccup later crafted a fake leg out of the melted trap and other scraps he picked up. Soon the two came to a small stone shack on top of a mine. It was in disrepair but still intact enough to live in. The two settles tired of running. Slowly Hiccup and Toothless made the shake a home, fixing it up and exploring the cave and surrounding woods.
 
This would be there new permanent home. Deeper exploration of the cave would uncover one of the old warp portals to a new world. The two being on opposite sided of weather to fix it or to keep is broken.  Yet it would not be up to them as the portal would be repaired form the other side. Showing the two an entire new world they could move to and explore if needed. Making allies with a few other cyclots that called that world home. As well as a whole new range of new odd creatures.

It was also latter in live a large purple cyclot came to them. Seemingly knowing Toothless. Hiccup thought them interesting and nice but he never paid much attention to when the two adults talked he was much more interested in being friends with the younger clots. Spade carried for. It was also through Spade Hiccup got much more interesting things to interact with as he had taken up the craft of smiting the old shack now having a fully operational forge.  Spade and her family would soon move into a mountain manor on a near by cliff.
