History: Yan has been a Martial Arts student in the same gym for her entire life. She was personal friends with nearly all of her tutors and fellow students and was training to one day compete in the Olympics to represent China. Her dream never came to fruition, unfortunately. The Kalen came and for a while, Yan lived a relatively normal life, still training and still hoping to one day stand on the Gold Podium… until one particular attack on her hometown which left not only her gym in ruins… but her entire life as well. Everyone she grew up with was now dead, leaving her the sole survivor from her old class. Over time, that took its toll on her mental state and she slowly developed a lot of anger issues, survivor's guilt and PTSD as well as severe depression. However, after about a year of wallowing in her own issues, she was suddenly thrust into a situation where she had to protect a group of children during a Kalen raid. Taking up a broken metal pipe, she held off the Kalen long enough for the children to be rescued. From then on… she knew she had to join the fight. As such, she moved to America and joined the Red Cloaks, meeting a new family. She is slowly recovering from her issues and dealing with her trauma in a more healthy manner... but she still has to contend with a lot of anger and intrusive thoughts.
