I had been itching to make a Beta Trufflefloss for some time (since I always thought that was a cool dynamic, with the Beta clan stereotypically bigoted towards Truffles, so it’s like a unification thing to have a floss that is both at once). Sardonyx doesn’t have any special traits at the moment, so to make up for that he has an interesting backstory! He wasn’t very happy for a good part of it, but he’s doing much better now.

-Clan power is levitation; it manifested late (mostly due to frequent Iota negation) for a Candyfloss but it was immediately very strong and got him out of a horrible situation

-Doesn’t remember his parents well because they tragically drowned in a boating accident when he was three

-Was sent to a run-down orphanage in the Iota region

-At the age of six he was told that he was about to be adopted

-He was ecstatically happy at the thought of finally having loving parents, but that’s quick to be shut down as he was actually sold

-The floss trafficking business brought him to a mafia where he became a slave and prisoner

-The vast majority of the mafia members were Iotas; with their mistreatment of Sardonyx it didn’t take long for his crippling Iotaphobia to manifest

-He was told he had to do everything ordered of him or he would be beaten and denied food for several days (the food itself was bad quality too)

-A few years on, as if being a slave wasn’t bad enough, he was now forced to fight in illegal fighting rings

-The competition was unfair and he was malnourished so he didn’t do well most of the time, which of course led to punishment

-In the solitude of his cell, Sardonyx tried to stay sane by daydreaming of freedom

-At the age of 13, he would unexpectedly get his wish when his Beta abilities suddenly kicked in for the first time (the mafia usually had at least one Iotafloss negating the prisoners’ abilities but somebody must have forgotten it was their turn)

-The levitation may have come in late, but as strong as it immediately was (master-level) there was no stopping him now

-As he was mopping the floors and not currently shackled, Sardonyx quite literally began to fly out of this wretched place

-He would later regret not being able to take any fellow prisoners with him, but in the heat of the moment, with little physical strength and sheer desperation to escape he didn’t think of it

-Halfway out of the building, some of the mafia finally noticed him and the Iotas began trying to force him out of the air but he was too quick for their negation to lock on target

-As a last resort they released their guard Knan Snappers to kill him; Sardonyx struggled to stay out of their reach and stay alive

-An especially strong Iota finally dropped him (they could spread their ability wide), but he was already outside so he fled on foot

-He ran more than he had ever run before, until his legs collapsed from exhaustion, and so he sheltered in place while the mafia searched for him

-Later that night he found an slim opening to get out undetected and flew away

-He would travel consistently for a while to put as much distance between him and the mafia as possible, constantly looking over his shoulder and panicking/running at the sight of unaffiliated Iotafloss/Petpets

-He had no money and had to eat out of dumpsters to survive as well as hide in cargo containers to travel to different clans (again, trying to get away from the mafia) 

-Long story short, he eventually made it off Glykos and to Karpos in the Kappa region

-A sympathetic young Theta family consisting of five siblings toke him into their home and he became a brother figure to them

-Now that he’s older, he dreams of getting a stable home of his own and adopting as many kittenfloss as he can (he never really got to have parents so he wants to be a good father to orphans and prevent them going through bad things as well)

-Hence, his Iotaphobia and hatred of everything Iota has one exception: Iota children in need

-His hood doesn’t hide his soul gem, it just helps him feel secure

-Mildly flavorist towards Sourfloss (he just thinks they’re a tad weird, there’s no hate or anything)

-Iota is the only clan he’s clansist towards; all other clans are good with him

-He feels uneasy meeting the rare outcast floss if he can’t immediately tell their clan (via clan-exclusive traits) and may ask them to reveal their soul gem, but as long as they turn out to not be Iota he doesn’t mind their presence and won’t judge why they’re exiled from their clan

-He’s never been to his home clan but doesn’t want to risk going anywhere near Glykos ever again, however he does try to celebrate Eiriniko Tsai every January
