Personality //

Finch is the sort of rosales who can never quite settle down. He's always going from one thing to the next, and seems to have a very short attention span. He smiles frequently, but is actually somewhat antisocial. He would much rather sit in quiet contemplation by himself than be social with other rosales. However he doesn't usually act on this, and goes out and socializes anyway, because he feels that it is expected of him. He is not awkward or socially anxious, and does well with mingling, especially at festivals and parties where there is alcohol flowing. Despite his small stature and childish frame, he exudes confidence and normally ends up bossing people around. All in all he is friendly, but he does have a single weakness. The scarf tied around his tail is a talisman of sorts, much like a security blanket. The familiar object has been with him for as long as he can remember. If ever it is misplaced, he loses his cool and panics, frantically searching for it. Don't take that scarf, man. Don't do it.

History //

Finch has had a very colorful life from the very beginning. Born the youngest child and only son of three siblings, as soon as he was able to walk he was helping his family with their work on the docks. By the time he was twelve he was joining them on journeys across the sea. His family worked as deckhands for a wealthy noble family of kelpie rosales , helping tend their cargo ships and keep everything running smoothly and on time. On the sea Finch was faced with many trials and adventures, many of which became favored stories for his family to recount later (i.e. his first fight against a giant squid monster, his first time taking the helm in a storm, etc.) It seemed clear from the beginning that Finch was destined for a life of adventure. He struck out on his own after completing his sword training with his grandfather, and drifted from job to job and town to town, eventually taking up work as a sellsword.

At first, it seemed that being a blade for hire was everything an overzealous young Finch wanted. He traveled back and fourth, fought in thrilling combat, and made plenty of money. He felt comfortable, safe, and arrogant. But years of pursuing the job made him slowly realize the truth; he was hurting people around him all for the sake of money. He grew to disdain sellswords, and the entire profession, and soon enough, he quit. For a few years in between, Finch wandered pursuing more general freelance jobs. He hunted treasures, explored mysteries, and solved puzzles. But soon enough, his savings wore thin, and he began to seek a new, more permanent employment.

It was then that he learned that the heir to the kelpie family he had grown up serving was moving from the coast, to settle in a forest rosales settlement inland. Deciding it was time to get back to his roots, Finch made his way there, and was promptly offered a job serving as a bodyguard to the young lord, where he has been ever since. He has used his boyish looks to pass himself off as a simple servant (and often plays that role as well) while looking after the young lordling. He is currently enjoying a life of peace and tranquility in the small town.
