The Cauruper Starling - Sporting a highly complicated pattern and messy feathers, the Cauruper Starling dwarves most of its cousins, coming in at approximately 12 inches in length. The Cauruper Starling is native to the lands of Dryadus, specifically living in the forests along the equator among the trees of which they have gained their name from. These song birds mostly feed on insects, living in a symbiotic relationship with the Cauruper tree by extracting harmful termites and consuming any aphids that may thing they are tricky enough to infest the leaves, while gaining the protection of camouflage as well as sturdy branches to build their homes on.

While female birds wholey resemble the bark of their host tree, males have golden wings fringed in a crimson purple color, and the same crimson purple fringing the bark colored feathers of their main body. When they are young both males and females are very dark, and as they mature and molt their feathers grow back lighter in color. Sometimes they have white spot mutations on their bellies. They generally have dark green or black eyes, and their beaks are golden with crimson mutations on some

The Cauruper Starlings mating season begins in early fall, where males perform complicated dances by hopping up and down branches, performing elaborate jump turns, and dive bombing between branches before flying to the tops of their trees. males will also build the prettiest nests they can, fight for the trees with the most insects and least predators, and overall perform "housekeeping" rituals to prove they are good mates. Like other starlings these birds do not mate for life.
