Larkspur, a sapphire dragon. Larkspur was a family friend of Lilac's birth parents - and when Lilac was born, was entrusted with Lilac's safety above all else. Thus, in the dead of night, Larkspur disappeared with a young Lilac, told to raise her somewhere in safety, where no one could try and hunt Lilac down for her draconic lineage. Larkspur's journey took her far away, to a small village called Liatris - and it was there she decided to stay. As the eldest, Larkspur was seen as a leader and was well respected, both by her adoptive siblings and by Liatris at large.

Despite her lifelong frail health, Larkspur always looked on the positive side. Her prowess with magic was second to none, and she excelled at shielding magic best of all. When Lilac was 14, Larkspur learned that Viridian Knights were searching for a pureblooded dragon in Liatris Valley - and knew, should the knights discover of Lilac's lineage, they would surely kill her. Larkspur left the village to parley with the knights - or so she claimed. Instead, Larkspur lied, claiming she was the dragon they were searching for - and though the knights went on the offensive, Larkspur used the last of her magic to hide Liatris away, ensuring the only way one could reach the village was if they were led there by a guardian. She was killed shortly afterward, her gem core stolen...
