Backstory:

• His father, Joseph, died when he was young from cancer, and while his mom, Maria, never fully recovered, she did her best and loved Garth dearly. She always tried to be the best mom she could. Garth grew up poor, but not unhappy
• When he was 14, Maria started seeing a man named Tony who had a 12 year old son named Mitchell. Tony wasn't a bad guy, and took good care of Maria, but Mitchell was awful
• Mitchell liked doing things and blaming them on Garth, but his mom never really did anything about it. Garth knew from the start there was something wrong with Mitchell, but figured he just needed to grow up a little
• Garth went on to be pretty popular in high school, making lots of friends, and going to parties every other weekend. He was careful, and would look out for the girls who attended
• At 17, Maria and Tony got married, and they were happy
• Mitchell had grown into a social loner, isolating himself more with each year. Garth tried to help him, take him to parties, introduce him to his friends, but Mitchell continued to push everyone away. Garth gave up, Mitchell refused to help himself so Garth moved on and stopped trying
• At graduation, everything was looking good for Garth. He had a lovely girlfriend, a great friend group, and a job lined up to start saving to move out
• At 21, right before he was ready to move out, his parents and his friends threw a big party at home to celebrate his 21st birthday
• Mitchell was jealous, hiding in his room, and unknowingly to Garth, had made a plan to burn the house down with everyone inside
• Garth got everyone out, but died doing it. He following his girlfriend out of the house when the ceiling collapsed. He pushed her out of the way and got stuck, the flames were too bad to get him, but he died on impact
• Unfortunately for him, his body was switched out with a fake by the mortician who was a necromancer. This event ended with Garth waking up a lich, and a dead necromancer who clearly had no idea what he was doing. Garth found clothes, dressed, and ran, unsure of what to do. He learned later that the glowing green amulet around his neck contained his soul
• Having nowhere to go, no idea where his family was, and figuring out he was, in fact, dead, he wandered from city to city, to different states. He had no form of identification, no money, and no idea what to do considering he was declared dead. He wasn't sure what would happen if he was discovered, would the government come for him? Fortunately for him, his burn scars occurred his identity pretty well
• He still doesn't know Mitchell did it, and neither does anyone else Info:
• Has learned magic from brief stayings with other supernatural beings, and learned sorta what he is the same way
• He returned to the necromancer's lair to find the whole building burned down
• His organs were scooped out by the mortician to sell, so he's mostly hollow inside. He also decays very slowly, hiding most of it under clothing
• His personality did a 180, becoming timid and quiet, reserved
• He frequents underground bars and guilds of other supernatural beings, finding places to stay and ways to make money to buy necessities

• He drives an old stick shift pickup truck, it's a dark teal color
