Isolates himself on rainy days, because the rain reminds him of the day his hero died. He doesn't want anyone to know how weak he really is, so he stays at home depressed.

Doesn't like talking much, but is often polite and well mannered. He can be quite rude or cruel with words sometime, but is mostly to hide his embarassment or discomfort. Other times, he is just rude or cruel because he has a grudge against humans.
Showing affection
Jamar love language is acts of service. He likes doing things together with the people he likes or doing something to help the person. Words have weight for him, so saying "I love you" or "I love this" is not something he'd do out of embarassment.

He mostly wears his fighting tight clothes when he is out, but at home, he mostly wears loose shirts and shortened pants with his hair dow or in a messy ponytail. He always has the special brooch with him.

Story
About
Jamar is a lonely retired hero's boisbéni. He likes to tend to his little cacti and succulent garden. Hunts beasts and other monsters to protect the "useless human" village he lives nearby. In the village, he meets Adrien, a local knight with a heart of gold, the two of them fought some monsters together and now Adrien is always looking for Jamar just trying to be his friend but Jamar is reluctant to open himself up for this friendship with a human. Rescues animals that get hurt in the monster fights and treat them until they're well enough to live in the wild again, is kinda well known in town for this and often receives hurt city animals (pets?) that villagers abandon on his porch. This makes him dislike humans even more.
Past
Big WIP warning, still thinking~
In his younger days, Jamar formed a bond with a nice hero who loved helping defenseless villages. The hero and Jamar travelled around helping all sort of people and fighting monsters along the way. He looks at this part of his life fondly. It was on one of these quests with his hero that he got the scars, he was careless and a monster clawed him in the face. Days later, his hero went to do a quest alone and left Jamar recovering at the village, The hero underestimate the quest and received a life threatening injury. Jamar sensed something wrong with his hero and rushed to his side. He couldn't heal his hero, they died in his arms. The monsters attacked the village and the people turned against Jamar for "bringing the monsters to our safe space".

Fighting style
Jamar prefers fighting from afar, using the terrain to his advantage. He has strong plant and healing magic, so his style is geared towards attacking, healing himself and attacking more. When he is fighting with a partner (yes, the partner here is Adrien), he focuses more on defending or healing the partner than attacking himself.

Jamar is a earth bound boisbéni and he focused his mastery on plants. He prefers sturdy plants like cacti and succulents.
Jamar is quite proud of his healing magic, it's not perfect, he can't do severe injuries, but it helps not getting tired in battle.
Jamar uses a sturdy sword for defense when he is low on mana. It's a normal human sword and it's not big or too small. He doesn't like blood so if he prefers to kill or incapacitate the monster without extreme injuries.
Jamar's last resort. He likes to be hands on with things so he can just go rogue and face a monster one to one style. He is quite strong and brave. It's very rare that he'll beat something up, but happened before...

The first time Jamar saw Adrien, he thought he was another dumb knight loyal to the kingdom and mean to the people. However, it was a welcoming surprise that Adrien was actually a nice, good, maybe a little airheaded guy. When they fought side by side for the first time, Jamar felt something in Adrien that he had felt with his old hero before. They definitely are much closer now and Jamar struggles with a label for them.
