Profile
Ramses Castillo is the leading force of a self-raised Buchan army referred to as “Snakeskins”, later becoming the dictator of the country of Nouveau and the Nation located in Mlaştina during the beginnings of the fourth era. He is primarily known for contradicting his values such as the Eyian ethical code, which he breaks by committing various war crimes and expressing discrimination against all races, at times including his own.
SUMMARY
Ramses’ beginnings took place in the Sellsnake headquarters approximately in the middle of the third era, as he had no recollection of anything that took place before his kidnapping. He was set up to be sold to a couple of rich Nouvishmen, who then took him to Auvergne to serve as their slave together with a couple of other Zphinx who were sold along with him to work in the factory belonging to their new masters.
He was subjected to being whipped and physically assaulted by his masters as means of punishment, which wasn’t always necessary for other industrial slaves such as him. They were exposed to working with machinery and tools that could’ve meant the loss of a hand, foot, or even death by making the simplest mistakes. Ramses, while being very careful himself, watched as his colleagues were at times severely injured or even lost their lives. Spending many years working at the factory he saw fellow Zphinx come and go, and it gave him plenty of time to develop his hatred against the Nouvish and the Sellsnakes who put him and his colleagues in this position in the first place.
His pent-up anger eventually led to the moment he put an end to one of their masters by starting a risky physical fight and managing to push the Nouvishman into the machinery, killing him. The many Zphinx who worked along with Ramses cheered for his heroism and courage to liberate them from their slavery, becoming his loyal followers. Together they stood up against the second Nouvishman and gave him the same treatment as the first. In union, they realized they could achieve anything, which was when Ramses came up with the idea to form a resistance that stands for the ethnic principles of Eyia. He called his new-founded army “Snakeskins”; a reference to them being hairless and ‘looking like they just shed their skin’. In the coming years, Ramses would rapidly gain more followers of Zphinx heritage, thanks to the propaganda spread across Buch del Santo. The amount of fame raised Ramses’ confidence by a mile, to the point he started to show signs of questionable morals that went against his cause, internalized by his deceased masters and enabled by his peers.
