Red the Wolf

They're a relatively chill and laid-back person when not in a high stress situation. They are also quite introverted and prefer having a lot of time to themself despite caring about all their friends very deeply.

They're a little impulsive - especially under pressure but this can also work in their favour as their impulsive decisions can sometimes pay off. Red tends to view themself as a "fixer" and feels a lot of responsibility to protect and take care of their friends.

A long time ago, a wolf worked with a group of jackal mercenaries, led by their childhood best friend, Zero. After a falling out between them, the wolf took their leave. Despite what the wolf thought, this hurt their friend very deeply.

Rookie lives in a small cottage with their roommate. The cottage is in the wilderness nearby the City, and spent most of their life keeping their head down and out of trouble. When Eggman began his takeover after defeating Sonic, Rookie began stealing parts of Eggman's robots and reverse engineering them to attack other badniks or using the parts to create new wispons - which they would leave outside resistance bases, since they were nervous about working with others.

Their life was changed when during what they considered a weak haul of badnik parts they ran into Infinite. However as he begun monolguing about how weak and pathetic Rookie was they - in their panic - headbutted him, knocking him to the ground and allowing them to run away. As they're running they bump into Knuckles who, despite being aware that them knocking Infinite down was an accident (and him finding it extremely funny), tells them the resistance needs all the help they can get.

After their earlier encounter Rookie is terrified of Infinite, and is in generally not very confident in combat situations - though the newly freed Sonic helps them out by partnering up with them allowing Rookie's fast thinking tactical mind to shine through more. It isn't until Sonic and Silver are out of commission due to their fight with Infinite that Rookie takes some real initiative, going to Mystic Jungle on their own to investigate, and end up finding a prototype of the Phantom Ruby - something that is crucial in taking Infinite down.

They manage to trick Infinite and - with Sonic's help - trap him in the Phantom Zone(tm). He eventually escapes, though he loses his powers in the process.

Buddy spends most of their time at their place, enjoying the return to the status quo. It's revealed their mysterious roommate was in fact, Ergo, the prototype Orbot. He's currently just a head, as they've struggled to source parts to fix him up properly.

They're a lot more casual about fighting now, and generally have a more confidence and take to helping out whenever asked.

Usually they'll be babysitting the younger kids (Cream or Charmy) or checking in on the others. Otherwise during peaceful times they're attending their chao garden.

They accidentally made Starline their nemesis because they were rude to him and he got a bruised ego about it. They humor him a little - but mostly they think he's a guy with way too much free time and no hobbies.

An AU set mostly after a 2 year timeskip - Eggman was defeated and went missing, and whilst everyone is still a little on edge they're all trying to move forwards with their lives.

Red and Starline are working out their feelings for one another, as both of them are worried about moving forward with a romantic relationship with all the... Everything that happened between them.

• They change their name near constantly, so most of their friends pick and nickname and refer to them as that
  
• They aren't aware that Infinite and Zero are the same person, thus bully him a lot more than if they did know it was him
  
• They usually either duo up with Sonic, or trio up with Espio and Silver
  
• They're Tail's mentor figure, and Rossum's uncle figure
