Arwyn

Arwyn was a young whippet that was separated from her owner, Sam, during a confrontation with a bear in the woods. They searched for each other far into the night, but were never successful. Cold, exhausted, and terrified; Arwyn finally stopped under the shadow of an old ruin. She curled up in a ball under the partial shelter of a large archway, and passed away from hypothermia in the freezing blackness of night.

Arwyn was transformed shortly after her death, but her spirit was unconscious for the process and the next memory her conscious mind registered was waking up as a newborn Esk. As Arwyn was already dead when transformed, her spirit was removed from her body which has left her with major memory loss and a constant feeling of unease. She knows she is missing someone important, she knows she has been separated from what made her feel safe and where she felt she belonged, and yet she has no real memories to guide her to find these things again.

The morning after her transformation she woke up alone and confused in a forest she did not recognize, in a body that did not feel right, and with a lingering impression of desperation and terror. She set out in a random direction on new, too long legs, searching for anything or anyone familiar.

Currently Arwyn wanders from place to place, looking for somewhere to call home. Unknown to her, her boundary is what is drawing her forwards, and she will feel less unsettled once she finds it. She hasn't met a friendly Esk that can teach her about her new life, and so as of yet has no knowledge of what Esk are or what she is capable of in general.
