Arin studied architecture and structural engineering in college, and though they never graduated due to their accident, Arin has extensive knowledge on how to build buildings and structures as well as how to repair them and keep them safe for public use.

History: Arin Woodrott's life began simple enough in a small town in Galar. They grew up with their two mothers, went to school, made friends, and slowly learned what they wanted to do with their life. After high school, they decided to go to university to study structural engineering and architecture, as the many different building styles in Galar inspired them to learn how to design their own sorts of structures. University was also going well, at least at first. Everything unfortunately changed when at the age of 21 Arin chose to join a Fraternity.

While it is odd for students joining these sorts of houses in the later years of their university life, it wasn't completely unheard of, and Arin realized it could do them some good to join as it always looked good on a resume. However this certain fraternity was known for some very heinous hazing rituals, but Arin hadn't really paid attention to the rumors flitting about the campus, so they were unaware. The night they were let into the house, they were asked to hold a small golden orb near the university's central grounds, and it seems innocent enough, so Arin did as they were told. As they clutched onto the ball, waiting for their new friends to arrive, Arin heard a small click, then a large booming noise, and then everything went dark.

When Arin woke up they were in the hospital. Apparently the orb they were asked to hold was supposed to contain firecrackers, but one of the frat brothers put in high grade fireworks instead not knowing the difference (or so he claimed). While Arin survived, they lost their left hand completely and potentially part of their hearing as a result of the blast. Thankfully the hazers received justice, but this did little to console Arin, and they fell into a deep depression, ending up dropping out of university and moving back home. They received a settlement from the school and from those responsible for their injuries, so money wasn't an issue, but for a while Arin lost any sort of will to do anything.

Eventually they ended up going to therapy and slowly started gaining their life back, but what happened still left it's mark on Arin. They became terrified of any sort of loud noises, and hated others seeing their missing hand, so would use oversized sleeves to hide the fact that it was missing. They did recover their hearing for the most part, though they do suffer from mild tinnitus in their left ear. Soon they felt good enough to use some of their settlement money to go on vacation, and ended up stranded on a strange island full of strange pokemon.
