Shadow Spirit is a black muscular cat with short hair and grey-blue eyes. He has a scar on his left cheek and a Shinigami mark on his left shoulder.

Shadow Spirit is a soul that can materialize at will and dissolve its body in darkness. He has the ability to move with the help of a shadow to any point in the world where light does not fall. Thanks to this, in the shadows, he can attack the enemy from any angle.

The Shadow Spirit is mostly calm and indifferent. He does not seek to please anyone and does not attach importance to what does not interest him. Black cat is not eager to fight first and does not like to show his mastery, but despite this, he fights fiercely and ruthlessly. He has the character of a real killer who will not hesitate to take someone's life. But despite all his composure, he really appreciates and loves relatives and friends and behaves affectionately and friendly with them, but if they are in danger, he falls into the wildest rage.

Teleportation

The most important advantage of the Shadow Spirit. One of the rarest abilities for a Shinigami that allows the soul to dissolve into the shadow and move into the space where the shadow falls. When teleporting, there will be no chance not to calculate the coordinates and materialize in the wall, since even in the atomic form the soul is able to think but is not able to interact with the environment.

Connection with the shadow

Thanks to a strong connection with the darkness, he is able to understand the creatures that live there. How a companion or friend can befriend them is another difference from other Shinigami.

Needs

Since he is a soul, he does not need sleep and food, but the Shadow Spirit loves to sleep to get rid of boredom. He eats very little and basically what he has not tried yet, he likes spicy food and he just loves avocados because of which he eats this much more.

Childhood

The Shadow Spirit was found as a small kitten by an ordinary soul family near the ruins of a forest hut. The family could not leave the kitten alone, so they took him to their home in the city of Windy Peak, which was located on the edge of a cliff in an abandoned castle on the side of an ancient forest. The parents quickly fell in like with their new son and named him Shadow Spirit because of the tongues of shadow emanating from his fur when they first met. The black cat grew up very friendly and loved to play with the souls of the rest of the kittens in the city. He showed amazing dexterity and strength, which greatly admired his parents. His father dreamed of sending his adopted son to a Shinigami school because he understood that he was different from all of them, but his mother was against it because she was very afraid of losing her child again. Already in his teens, the Shadow Spirit suspected that he was not an ordinary soul and wanted to know about his biological parents in order to understand who he was. It was at this age that his power of teleportation awakened, which at the beginning scared the black cat and then amused him. He could only move for short stretches of shadow, but that already gave him a huge advantage.

One day Wind Peak was attacked by Lost Souls (souls blinded by revenge for their death or restless souls who lost all their good qualities from life). The Shinigami who arrived in time could not cope with all the monsters, and one of the Lost Souls broke into the house of the Shadow Spirit`s family, and his father ordered him and his mother to run away while he delayed him. The black cat and his mother did not want to go at the sight of the Lost, mother, with difficulty overcoming herself, runs away with her son. After defeating the Lost Spirit, the Shadow Spirit rushes home and freezes in horror over the body of his father. The Shadow Spirit was present at the farewell to the all deads, in which the whole city participated, and then his mother, with tears in her eyes, but with complete calmness, says that the Shadow Spirit needs to join the Shinigami school.

Path of becoming a Shinigami

After the death of his father, the Shadow Spirit did not want to leave the house and his mother, but under her perseverance, enters the school without difficulty passing the entrance exam. Still overwhelmed by the tragedy, the black cat withdraws into itself and looks at everything with indifference. Easily learning new skills and becoming the best student, the Shadow Spirit gains admiration and envy from other students. He meets Peanuts and Nelly but does not attach much importance to their friendship. Peanuts, a very cheerful and friendly boy, who at any appearance of the Shadow Spirit rushes to him with a joyful cry, he always drags the company into some ridiculous adventure. Nelly is more calm and pssimistic girl, but still prefers sarcasm and jokes. Together they go on their first mission to protect the neighborhood from the Losts. Peanut decides that the best view will be from the tree and climbs to the top of the pine tree. According to the law of meanness, at this moment a huge Lost appears and the Shadow Spirit, Nelly and several other students have to take the fight. One of the students is thrown right into the Shadow Spirit and he is disoriented and does not see how Nelly is driven into a dead end, but when he notices, he realizes that he will not have time to get to her. Nelly is ready to accept death with honor, but Peanuts jumps at Lost with a screech, which knocks the monster down. This gives the Shadow Spirit time to use teleportation for the first time since his father's death. Everyone is happy about the victory and shocked at what the Shadow Spirit is capable of. Nelly wipes the blood off the black cat's cheek and the he notices a scratch. After the task, they return to the school and the Shadow Spirit becomes closer with friends. The three of them graduate from school and receive the Shinigami marks.

Dark Soldier

The Shadow Spirit returns home for the first time and sadly notices how sad his mother looks. She tells him that she once had a son who became a Shinigami and died on a mission. The Shadow Spirit understands why she did not want to let him go to school and promises her that she will not lose him or anyone in this city.

NBecause of his abilities, the Shinigami Council decides not to send the Shadow Spirit to a specific place to protect against Losts, but assigns the cat to a special squad for emergencies. Being in reserve, the black cat often misses, sleeps or travels for this. He is looking for clues about his biological parents and his past, but he does not forget to visit his mother and stays at home whenever possible. Receiving assignments, he goes to destroy especially dangerous Losts, which causes fear among many Shinigami. While traveling one day, he kills one Lost and notices a burning black ball hiding in the darkness. The black cat takes him with him and names him Pepper, and the little pet mostly hides in the Shadow Spirit's shadow.
