Gale lives in a parallel universe to the canon One Piece universe, where some of the locations and characters and such are carried over, but I've invented new islands and lore and characters! It's just for fun. She's currently been sailing on the seas for a couple of years underneath her mentor, Yami. They explore and train together, and although they idly search for the One Piece, they're mostly in it for the adventure.

Although they travel together, Gale and Yami do not fly the same flag. Yami never flew a flag/jolly roger of his own, claiming himself as more of an adventurer until the government placed a bounty on him and he was forcibly named a pirate. Gale, following in her mentor's footsteps, does the same. She has a substantial bounty, but she hasn't designed a flag or any plans to form any kind of crew.

abilities

Kizaru doesn't exist in this universe, so Gale possesses the pika-pika no mi (https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Pika_Pika_no_Mi). The devil fruit allows her to turn into and wield light - she commonly fights with a light sword or kicking attacks. Haki is required for anyone to pierce her, since normal attacks go right through her when she turns into light on instinct.

relationships/personality

Despite her grim past, Gale is a very friendly and outgoing person. Her spark was brought back by Yami in their time together, and she has grown into a very bold, firey person. She's determined to take full control of her devil fruit and prove that she can use it for good in the world, and wants to see all corners of the seas in memory of her family.

Gale and Yami have grown to be very close friends, and Gale has reached the point where she would sacrifice anything in order to protect her beloved mentor. They started out rough, as Gale begged Yami to take her along as his apprentice and train her - but over the years Yami has warmed up to her.

Recently, Yami and Gale ended up in a predicament where they had to enlist the help of a pirate captain under the name of Dune to help them track a Marine down for intel. Through the interaction, they grow very close, and the three become friends - though there's a lot of distrust from Yami for the outgoing, brash Captain.
