Backstory

Chiba was born into a large family with 3 other siblings: an older sister, a younger brother, and a younger sister. His older sister was going to take the crown, but he had prepared to rule in case anything happened to her. Something indeed did happen, but it was not something he could have planned for. The neighboring countries waged war, making the castle their main target. All was chaos, and in that chaos, his life went to hell. Beaten, captured, and told his family was dead, A 17 year old Chiba had nothing left except whatever torture his captors decided to inflict upon him.

A dim light appeared when a demon came to him offering him power but not freedom. Freedom would have to come at his own hands, but power was enough for that. He accepted, not caring how much of his soul he would have to sell. There was nothing left to live for anyway, nothing except revenge. It was not long until he learned this was not true.

A young man started visiting his cell when no one else was around. The two of them grew close with the young man helping him hold onto some of his sanity. Fearing what would happen if anyone found out about them, he made the young man promise to not do anything reckless, including helping him escape. The time for that would come soon enough. Of that he would make sure.
