Chanterelle is a quiet, smart, 10 year old girl who has been pulled into the world of inverted.
In this cruel and harsh world she’s found herself in, she’s managed to survive with her knowledge of foraging taught to her by her parents before being separated from them against her will.

she at first bonds with Goose and Player, seeing them and brother figures before they leave one day. She waits, and waits, and waits. But they don’t come back. So she goes off on her own, living off her knowledge and the occasional kindness of strangers. Eventually befriending the mountain zone leader, who later brought her to a village she ends up making home
