Gavin Landvik's Links
Gavin gets along well with Andra, with them both being on the quieter end of the social spectrum. They both can appreciate each other's company in silence, and Gavin feels very much in peace when around her. He has a tendency to secretly dote on her like a younger sister, much to her annoyance.
Andra admires Gavin. He isn't as loud as the other two and she can always go hide behind him if she's scared by something. She doesn't entirely mind being seen as a younger sister by him (in fact it's kind of entertaining to think of Gavin as an older brother) but she doesn't appreciate it when he spoils her.
Caleb is a long-time childhood friend of Gavin's, with them first meeting on the Internet when they were both ten. Gavin sees him as a very close friend, something akin to a brother (which he actually turned out to be) and knows he can place his trust in him. He's always worried about Caleb's well-being, knowing his terrible gaming habits and checks on him regularly, even now.
Caleb is very close with Gavin, first conversing with him online on some obscure forum at the age of ten, and they've been close ever since. Caleb knows that he can trust Gavin, and although the guy can be a bit nosy at times, he appreciates that Gavin cares.
His boyfriend, although it doesn't seem like it on first impressions. He usually ignores Percy completely, even when the guy is literally clinging to him and being a pest. Gavin is happy about the attention he gets, but he doesn't really know how to respond to it. He often attempts to show affection when they're alone, but his efforts usually get laughed at until Gavin has him pinned against a wall. Doesn't really care how Percy acts around the others.
His boyfriend, although at first glance it looks completely one-sided. Percy literally peppers Gavin with affection on a day to day basis, despite getting little reaction for it. He really does wholeheartedly love Gavin, and wants to support him even if the guy never shows any sign of weakness. Gets incredibly flustered whenever Gavin shows affection to him.
To be frank, Gavin dislikes the guy. To him, Toby is rude, brash, small and a general pain. From the beginning, they got off on the wrong foot and once they were in each other's real life presence, they have never stopped physically fighting. Gavin is envious of Toby's natural leadership and is often conflicted over whether or not to defer the management of his party to him.
It was hate at first conversation. Toby really hates Gavin. He's taller than him, admittedly physically stronger than him and also has an attitude that really grinds on his nerves. Considering his first reaction to seeing Gavin in real life was to lunge at him and attack him, it's safe to say they get on like a cat and dog. One day he wants to make it so that Gavin never looks down on him again.
Gavin likes Rick. He's pretty much the other person in their session who has more than a scrap of knowledge about world politics. He's surprised by his maturity and knowledge (compared to some other Session 2 players) and finds conversation with him pleasant.
To the surprise of literally everyone in the session, Rick thinks that Gavin is pretty nice. He understands that the guy isn't as social as the others but if you find the right subjects then he will actually talk to you. He likes to discuss politics with him. Of course, he disapproves of the animosity between Gavin and Toby but Rick tends to bubble that relationship off and leave it to the side when he's interacting with Gavin unaccompanied.
He finds this spunky girl a real riot. She's as headstrong and stupid as Toby, but Erin doesn't tick him off so much. Gavin will frequently side with her in her fights with Toby. Wants to prove to her that badminton is the superior sport.
Erin likes Gavin, mainly because he has a thing against Toby. She is always willing to help him egg Toby on during an argument. She doesn't have a great understanding of who Gavin is as a person, but she does know that she needs to display just how much better tennis is to him.
Faye has managed to gain an above-average level of respect from Gavin. He sees her as one of the more sensible ones and she is probably the only one on par with him in terms of physical strength. She's also a great drinking buddy.
Faye isn't really sure how to act around Gavin, he definitely isn't as rambunctious as many of her other friends. She gets the feeling that she is liked by him, however, and he is the one of the few who will directly ask to spar with her.
Gavin sees Dean as a bit of an exhausting presence. His general energetic and sociable nature puts him at unease and more often than not, Gavin just ignores him. He sometimes likes to follow through with his little games if he's feeling bored.
Dean doesn't really know what to make of Gavin. The guy definitely has a weird atmosphere about him, and he doesn't seem like the type one should mess around with (mainly because Dean is younger and smaller). For the most part Gavin doesn't bother Dean, so Dean attempts to respect that as best he can.
Gavin respects her a lot for being able to keep her calm around the players from her session. Doesn't understand what she sees in Dean. He was baffled when she approached him for training in close-combat, but he accepted her request anyway.
After seeing Gavin punch a hole through a wall in one of his spats with Toby, Kate became dead set on getting some lessons in hand-to-hand combat. She greatly respects him and frequently engages in polite conversation with him.
Being the one to relieve him of the company of Percy, Gavin feels a great level of sympathy for Jean. He doesn't talk to Jean very much but it comforted by the fact that he's willing to lend an ear when he needs to complain about Percy.
Jean sees Gavin as his saviour as the guy seems to have a knack for knowing when Percy is invading his private space again and promptly takes the chattering fool to who knows where. He rarely has one-on-one conversations with Gavin but Jean likes to think they have a positive relationship.
She seems somewhat reluctant to talk to Gavin, and to be honest he doesn't blame her. Lola seems to be the most withdrawn out of the Session 2 players and for the most part, he'll leave her be.
Lola is deeply intimidated by Gavin. To her, he's much bigger and stronger than everyone else so her first reaction to seeing him is to stiffen up and then run away. She really hopes that she hasn't offended him in any way.
Their first encounter was incredibly awkward, with Gavin abruptly crying upon catching clear sight of Geoff's face. Over time, they grew close, with is becoming easier to understand and converse with each other the more they spent time with each other. Gavin confided a lot in Geoff, although the entire time it was unnerving to be in the presence of an alternate-universe younger version of his father. When Geoff suggested the idea of doing "The Leap", Gavin was near heartbroken when he said they might not see each other if they went through with it. He carried the plan through regardless, but hasn't seen Geoff again in the dream bubbles since.
Geoff didn't know what to make of Gavin initially. Seeing someone that was near the spitting image of his father was a huge shock, yet it also made it easy for Geoff to talk to him. He took as an opportunity to catch up on the familial bonding he sorely missed. Geoff was the one who proposed the idea of "The Leap" to Gavin, heavily pushing the idea forward. He only desired the best for Gavin, even if it meant that they'd most likely part ways forever afterwards.
