She is kept hidden away by Livius, for the sake of protecting her life and to keep the information of him having a child a secret ( No one knows that he has a daughter. He use to have a wife. But due to that being public knowledge, the other faction had taken notice of the information and had assassinated her when Livius had least suspect it. He learned from his mistake to not let prying ears know about his love ones, as that could be taken advantage by his enemies. Hence why his daughter is kept hidden away and heavily sheltered ( Never gotten the chance to see what the outside world is like. Livius refuse to take any risks, for the sake of protecting his daughter's life. He is only willing to show her the world, only after his enemies is taken down. Which may take quite a long, long time ) ).

He is willing to do anything for her. To him, Clarissa is his world and will always put her first over anyone else.
Clarissa was just a baby when her mother died. Hence no memories of her. Since she doesn't know the term of what a mother is ( Due to Livius concealing specific information ), she never asked about her nor know what it is like to have a "mommy"
