Baldric

Baldric is derived from the Germanic elements bald which means bold, brave and ric which means power, rule.

A baldric is also a kind of belt that is worn over one shoulder and  used to carry a sword or drum. Baldrics are still used, mostly as part  of some military or ceremonial uniforms.
