Alexa

One of the most recognisable figures within the National Adventurer’s Society, Alexa does everything in her power to ensure the smooth running of the service.

Background

Alexa had been fascinated with the National Adventurer’s Society since she was a young girl. Her mother always told her that her father was a world-famous adventurer, who had stopped in their town for a short while. They had shared a short-lived romance before adventure called once more and he was required to head elsewhere for a brand-new journey.

Her mother would always tell her stories of her father’s adventures, the places he had been and the things he had seen. Growing up with these stories gave Alexa a huge fascination with adventuring, and she was always reading books written by adventurers, telling of their tales. Unfortunately, she was rather sickly herself and could barely leave the house without great struggle. But using her imagination, she could join her father and other adventurers as they journeyed across the globe.

When Alexa turned 16, she signed up to join NAS as a support officer, collating intel that people had sent in to NAS and passing any interesting or recurrent information on to higher-ups, who would send requests out to members of the society to investigate further. As she gained experience, she eventually started dealing with the requests herself, passing them on to keen adventurers along with her own little anecdotes. The enthusiasm she showed gained her great popularity within NAS, with adventurers always going out of their way to see her and ask her for work any time they were passing the headquarters. 

She is now in charge of the support department, and has become one of the most prominent figures at headquarters. Her colleagues love working for her as she’s always on hand to provide advice and support, and she is generally well-liked in other departments as well.

As she works away, she is always reading reports from other adventurers, wondering who her father could be and making guesses based on the places they go. What she sadly doesn’t know is that her mother had made the entire thing up.The real truth is that her father lived in the same town as them, but broke up with her mother once she found out she was pregnant as he didn’t want children. He took no responsibility for Alexa growing up, and always denied she was his, especially since she was so sickly. Her mother didn’t want Alexa being upset by this, and so told her what started as a white lie as to why her father wasn’t around, building it up into a bigger and bigger lie as time went on, for fear of disappointing her if she ever found out the truth.
