sword name: shobatsu 処罰
shobatsu is possessed by a jury made up of past saibans. together, these saibans decide if an opponent is deserving of death. if the vote passes, shobatsu becomes sharp enough to cut through any material. shobatsu is otherwise a blunt weapon.
the jury decides who the next saiban will be. only one living saiban can exist. while possible, no saiban has ever had their title revoked.
long ago, a powerful yokai tried to cut the earth in half, beleiving life to be unsalvagable. he was stopped and divided into pieces. his eyes and horns were made into a sword that punishes evil, and his hide made into a cloak that grants mercy to the innocent.
