Rask

Rask does not play a role in Pray for Us, but I love him so leave me alone. Here's his backstory instead:

When Rask was a child, he was diagnosed with psychopathy. Throughout the first 20-something years of his life, he managed his condition, blending in with society and learning how to mask properly and live as a normal person. But his inability to feel empathy for others put a strain on his relationships, and after a particularly bad falling out, he decided he was willing to do anything to just be normal. That's when he was approached by a demon. The demon told him they could grant him what he desired, they could give him a conscience, a sense of empathy and compassion for others. Naturally, Rask agreed. The next few years of his life were the best he's ever had. He mended his relationships. He excelled at his job. Everything felt new, right. Then it was cut short when he threw himself in front of a car to protect a stray dog. Oops.

Despite his noble deed, Rask's soul was tainted with the mark of a demon. He, himself, was demonified, becoming a hell cat, although there was one problem: He still had the conscience and morals that he had traded his soul for. Even as a demon, his strong sense of empathy for others lingered on, which made it extremely difficult to do his job. Now, he struggles to get by on the little demonic power he has, barely avoiding starving to death and fading into a ghost of Purgatory.
