Citrus, or Abigail Lucia May, is a Maximum Ride lab experiment character, and the main character of my fanfiction Running. In her reality, she is the only experiment in the world with three types of DNA in her - tiger, avian and human. All of her flock, including her boyfriend and soon-to-be-husband Iggy (Ignatius) are only avian hybrids. Because of this experiment that she wasn't supposed to be able to live through, Citrus has suffered through multiple different life-long side effects that makes her life almost impossible to live through. Despite this, she is strong-willed and protective, as well as extremely strong both mentally and physically. Her DNA consists of 1% Snowy Owl, 1% Northern Owl (which counts as a singular DNA, as they are similar and only changes colour), 1% Common Tiger and 97% Human. Her weaknesses include extremely realistic nightmares thanks to her video-like memory and insane eyesight along with trauma, heightened emotions which makes them hard to understand and control, racing thoughts that makes it hard to understand, along with many other issues due to the trauma of the labs. She loves music, art, children and running.

When Citrus was younger, she had brown eyes and ginger hair with no stripes or evident DNA changes. As she grew older, however, her appearance began changing. When she was a 1-year-old, her stripes began coming in faintly and her eyes began shifting to become more tiger-like. When her teeth started coming in, she had sharp canine teeth like a tiger. Her wings officially got their feathers when she was 2 years old. By the time she was 5, her tiger-like appearance was already intimidating staff members, this is because of one of her abilities where her glare feels like a predator staring at its prey, although she can never turn it off and the people around her have to get used to it or they get scared off. When she turned 9, she was able to shoot claws out of her fingertips, like a cat revealing their claws. When she turned 10, she could fold her wings into her body (with a lot of pain). When she was 16 years old, she had received tiger ears and a tail. She could also fold these into her body.
