Life for a Temptress is pretty predictable after a time. Outside of those big, divine wars that crop up every few millenia, it's a lot of petty vying for power among the other celestial sorts — and of course the Temptresses know petty best.
But when one little mortal starts making waves big enough to catch even the Sea Bitch's eye, well, things get a little less predictable. Especially when said little mortal has a proclivity for divination and divine theatrics. Then Nyneve has to break up her usual routine just enough to keep an eye on the little bitch and her — ugh — Istishian.

While a Temptress's primary call is not that of war, underestimating the raw power of those most loyal to the Sea Bitch has been the last mistake of many.
