Monica

Monica is a meek, quiet girl.  She loves kids, and works for a nursing home ministry for disabled children.

Monica is currently separated from her husband, Jeff.  For some months he'd been coming home drunk and she suspected drug activity with his out-of-character violence.  She had been praying for God to work in his life and fix whatever was going on, especially with a baby on the way.  Things escalated one night, and Jeff beat her in a blind rage until the cops arrived and arrested him.  Monica was taken to the hospital, and later told the baby had died from the beating.

With her husband now behind bars for assault and murder charges, Monica faces an onslaught of sympathetic and opinionated friends.  Some think she should divorce him for such an atrocity, while others tell her she shouldn't divorce because he hadn't been unfaithful in their marriage.  Caught in the middle with questions and no answers, Monica remains separated from her husband, devoting all of her time to the disabled children she works with.
