Addig on! Melting ice caps releases stored greenhouse gases from frozen dead matter, which futher increases concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Melted ice caps also decreases their albedo effect, so they reflect less light and heat from the sun. All the different factors combined will increase ocean temperatures drastically :( And cause various disastrous effects such as coral bleaching, which in turn results in loss of habitat and shelter for many ocean creatures...
