Summary
Fraus is a very unstable woman, to say the least. She is obsessed with maintaining power and control, having to be the most important person in the room at all times. The aasimar thrives on attention- whether that be out of adoration or terror.
Her mental state is shaky at best. Fraus is wracked with intense anxiety and paranoia, most of which being caused by her fall. This is only intensified by having to constantly keep up her image and maintain her huge secret. She fears the envy of those below her, that they might overthrow her or kill her, sleeping with protective glyphs on her door every single night- both outside her home and outside her bedroom, just in case. After having fallen, she feels a part of her missing in her shadowed heart. Her tether to her god was cut, and she’ll never feel whole again. At the start it bothered her- causing an intense yearning for something she’ll never have back. Nowadays though, she has been able to keep herself from thinking much about it. She’s a bit empty, but that’s fine; she really is pleased with her position in life. She might consider it to be even better than what she had before, since she has so much more authority now.Communication Skills
Fraus is very closed off from others, mostly so she can maintain an image of superiority over them. She has managed her life very carefully and refuses to let anyone see any semblance of weakness in her, no matter what it takes. But it’s not like she’d have much to say, aside from the many secrets she holds close to her chest. She is quite happy with the state of affairs.
Any interactions with her followers are usually threats of violence, or the act of violence. She often uses fear as a means of control; sometimes not on purpose though since her emotions often get the best of her. She acts erratically and suddenly, and even if a cultist was trying very hard to please her, its hard to say what she wants from them at any given time.Self-Perception
Fraus thinks incredibly highly of herself, seeing her fallen status as merely an inconvenience and thinks she is just as holy as she’d always been. She thinks everyone else is below her and that anyone is lucky to even be around her- she is a heavenly aasimar, gracing their filth with her presence. She especially thinks this about her wife, a tiefling named Cherie. Fraus truly believes the infernal girl is lucky to be chosen for the honor of being her partner and lover. She truly is merciful and giving, isn’t she?
She has even convinced herself that Savras, her previous god and the one she was created for, was wrong to cast her out. That he didn’t know the truth of her soul- that she is still divine. Not that she ever thought of herself as a good person, she simply sees the status of her holy nature as more important than morality. Though, deep in her heart, she despises the creature she knows she is. A disgrace- a filthy, worthless wretch that was cast down to the Material Plane to rot away by the one who made her like a piece of garbage. She takes this self-disgust out on those around her, finding a natural tendency to hate infernal and any demon-adjacent creature around her. She has to be superior to them, she has to be. And she knows that she is. Right? Its why she hides her real self, even when alone. After all, she’s not having to just convince her followers that she is still holy and perfect. She also wants to convince herself. And thus far, she has succeeded.Appearance
Basics
Fraus is a tall aasimar with pale skin and curly, thick white hair. It goes down to her lower back and is never really styled unless thrown into a ponytail when it’s convenient.
She has three dull grey eyes- one set of two, with one extra under her right eye. It is often a tiny bit smaller than the other two, reacting less to her expressions due to its positioning on her face. When under high stress, she gets even more eyes, though they are all temporary, and are colored black with white pupils. They appear randomly all over her body, the more of them correlating with higher levels of intense emotion. Once she is calm they vanish once more. She has two main forms, her natural form, and the illusion. Her natural form has one set of sickly, black wings that often shed their feathers at the slightest irritation. She also has no halo, as well as intense scars on her back. Instead of ears, she has a couple long, black feathers that drape from each side of her head. They are what remain of the small wings that she had before in their place as a pure aasimar. She is hardly ever in this form at all. After all, Fraus is most often seen in the illusion she magically creates. It is more than just a Disguise Self spell since it’s quite tangible. She has all four of her wings in this form, as well as a golden halo always behind her head in a perfect circle. The wings are physical and you can touch them, but the sensation causes discomfort for Fraus herself, so she would rather avoid that. The magic also prevents her real wings from shedding, so any black feathers she may have are usually contained to her bedroom. Though, Fraus keeps up the illusion even when alone, for it takes very little effort and is practically automatic. She also has normal elf ears under it and is able to hide most of her “extra” eyes when in a calm state.Scars & Marks
Fraus’ fall left her with harsh scarring that spans all across her back, which she subconsciously grew her hair out in order to cover- though, it is only visible in her natural form. At the time it felt like burning, and it might as well have been with what it left behind. The skin is rough, dark, and blemished in the area, and where her second pair of wings used to be there is two dark spots that resemble eyes without any pupils. She has a similar spot between and above the set that remains. Otherwise, Fraus was left with relatively no other scarring. When her temporary eyes appear and disappear, they leave nothing behind.
She used to have white freckles scattered all over her body pre-fall but lost them afterwards. She has no other notable markings.Wardrobe
It is hard to find Fraus not in her usual priestess robes. She wears it daily, not even taking off the outer robe around most people. As far as many of her followers are aware, that’s all she ever has on.
In terms of styles though, before she fell, Fraus (known by Alethea at the time) wore a selkie-type dress, short, flowy, and revealing. But ever since her fall she feels the need to wear layers and clothes with a lot of coverage. It’s not a conscious thought of hers, but she feels wrong in her altered body and cant help but feel the need to be covered most of the time. Not to mention it helps hide just how many eyes she forms under stress- after all, only the ones on her face and hands really show on a normal basis when in her usual robes. It’s not at all about modesty, but she does wear a style of clothing akin to that when not in her usual outfit. Lots of cardigans, long skirts that reach her ankles, long-sleeves with frilly cuffs. Mostly in reds, blacks, and often gold. When out and about she also wears a charm around her neck of a four-leaf clover, to reference the goddess Tymora which she “worships”. Overall though, Fraus puts a lot of effort into her appearance and dresses accordingly, no matter the occasion.- robes

Story
Pre-fall
Before she fell, Fraus was known by the name Alethea. She was an aasimar of Savras, the Lord of Divination and the Third Eye. As other aasimars around her, she belonged to him, though she was one of his most trusted ones and was a member of his court. She often got away with more than others might, though this was mostly because she would lie her way out of trouble constantly. And with Savras’ trust in her, she was able to skate by doing whatever she wanted.
She was never good in her soul, though it took many years before she actually was struck from her position. She quite liked somewhat tormenting those on the Material Plane, taking joy in having their immediate trust and adoration simply because she was considered a holy figure. Having their appreciation despite doing nothing did wonders for her ego, and she thought herself untouchable.
Despite her relatively easy life, she wanted more. She wanted to be worshiped by others, the way people worshiped Savras. She didn’t mind the system she was in, being born to live for and praise a being above herself as an aasimar. But what she really wanted was to be the head of that position, the leader and person people praised and worshiped. She wanted to be a god. But safe to say, her plan to overthrow her own did not go well. Savras caught on before she could even enact it, though who’s to say if she ever had a chance. Turns out surprising the god of divination is quite challenging. And we all know what becomes of an unruly aasimar, one with a shadowed and selfish heart far from the good nature they are all supposed to inhibit. They fall.Recovery and the cult
After falling, Alethea forgot her own name. It had been replaced in her mind with the name Fraus, and as far as she was aware, it had always been that. She might know logically that an aasimar’s name changes when they become fallen, but even if she was told it directly, her old one would feel wrong and alien to her ears.
The girl had absolutely nothing. Stricken to the Material Plane with intense wounds and sleep-ruining nightmares and night terrors, she was left weak and frail. Her head bled from the loss of her halo, her back burned from the destruction and transformation of her wings, and she had gained so many new eyes which disoriented her. She was lost, afraid, desperate, and had nowhere to go. Initially, she struggled with anything and everything. Fraus was unable to get a good sleep for months, the nightmares preventing her from doing so. Dreams are the main language aasimar speak through to their gods and devas, but that language had been turned against her in punishment. And that symptom would never go away, though the terrors would become less frequent over time, and it would bother Fraus less and less the more they happened. While at first they would cause her to awake a trembling and pathetic mess, weak and scared, over the years they were no more than an inconvenience that only seemed to startle her in the seconds after jolting awake.
She had to become more self-sufficient. She tried to be seen as little people as possible, ashamed of her disgrace. She was disgusted by the creature she’d become and would rather isolate herself. Over the next few years, she was able to care for herself, finding a way to mask her fallen status through magic, her isolating causing her to get in her own head and obsess over what she lost. The magic could restore her wings and halo, with a few altercations that were easier to keep up. It could hide her scarring, vanish most of her new eyes, make her seem pure again. The wings were the hardest part and the most complex, but it was the most important one to her. She still couldn’t fly with them, after all she never takes care of her real, black ones. Fraus was so disgusted with her new form that she never bothered to preen the things, rather them become unhealthy instead of having to face it. But in the eyes of all who met her, she was exactly what she always had been. Eventually, she began to form the cult of Tymora. She still wanted power, and if she couldn’t be a god, she’ll take it in whatever form it comes to her. Her charisma and false charm made the task easy, as well as the natural adoration she gained from the illusion of her pure aasimar status. Though, she now had an air to her which struck fear in others, even if they weren’t sure why. They didn’t know her true form, but Fraus radiated a terrible energy just by existing how she does- and that’s not even including her horrible behaviors. Fraus personally does not care for Tymora much at all, picking a god that was already well-worshiped to avoid the goddess actually noticing her and her antics. After all, she does not worship her in the… traditional sense. Tymora, being a good-aligned god, doesn’t have cults usually, and yet Fraus created one in her name. One that sacrifices its members and kills for her. Thankfully, if the goddess had noticed the cult, she has yet to have stepped in- much to Fraus’ delight. After all, the cult is simply a method for her to maintain control and authority. She became addicted to this life. The thrill of killing, of manipulating and controlling. She became more and more violent, her fallen state creating endless paranoia and terror that she takes out on the followers under her. Her gathering of people is sizable, but still small enough to have direct control over. Anytime anyone acts out of line, or gets too close, or even is just in a nightmare the aasimar happened to have, they are killed- all for Tymora, of course. It was just bad luck!
current
Currently, Fraus is still the High Priestess of her cult. She has been running it for many years, ruling through fear and killing anyone who steps out of line. She gets the worship she wanted, in a way, but found that terrifying the people under you makes it quite easy to control them. While not exactly what she wanted at the start, Fraus is happy with the way things are now. She maintains this life with careful precision, though her paranoia often gets the best of her. The girl is very unstable, and all of her followers are aware of this. She has killed a few people unnecessarily though her fear, but if the cult can stay put together, then there’s no reason to regret, now is there?
Fraus lacks remorse and care for those around her, only seeming to show any positive attention to her wife, Cherie. But even that relationship is full of toxic manipulation and could end any time, as far as the aasimar is concerned. But for now, she benefits by having companionship, and so the tiefling is allowed to live by her side and has been the only constant member for a long time. She treats her like garbage most of the time, but Cherie doesn’t seem to mind- perhaps even liking it, surprisingly enough. Otherwise, Fraus tries to maintain the status quo as much as she can. Right now, her life is as perfect as it was going to get, and she aims to keep it that way, by any means necessary.Relations

Cherie joined the cult of Tymora many years ago, a tiefling girl down on her luck and in need of protection from some unsavory people to whom she owed money. Cherie is a gambling addict who was in hot water, where Fraus happened to meet her and come to her rescue in a way, taking her into the cult. But, unfortunately, she was jumping out of the pan and right into the fire.
Cherie believes nearly every word that comes out of Fraus’ mouth, addicted to her and worshiping her more so than many of the other cultists. Fraus gave her more attention than she was used to getting as someone who had been ignored and neglected for all of her life, creating a cycle where Fraus would like her ego being fed and give Cherie more positive attention and interactions, causing Cherie to fall harder and continue the behavior. Eventually, the relationship evolved into a more romantic and sexual direction, with Fraus deciding to make Cherie her wife. This gave Cherie special privileges and protections. Particularly, it was now very unlikely that Fraus would randomly sacrifice her- mostly due to the fact that Fraus got plenty out of the relationship between the two of them. Cherie had her own room in Fraus’ home, ate better food, and overall had a higher status than the other followers. Fraus would specifically demand no one speak ill of Cherie, despite that being something Fraus herself loves to do. After all, Fraus degrades the tiefling quite often, disgusted by her infernal heritage and brings it up whenever possible, retorting how lucky she is to be with an aasimar such as herself that is even willing to touch her. Their relationship is constantly manipulative and ugly, Fraus taking advantage of how lonely and insecure Cherie is in order to mold her into what Fraus wants out of her. Cherie seems to be pleased with this arrangement for the most part, but it’s safe to say its quite unhealthy for her. But she’s stuck in it now. Whether she knows it or not, becoming Fraus’ wife meant that she belonged to her for the rest of her life. It’s hard to break up with a murderous cult priestess who could kill you on a whim, you know.Relationship:

Eeb was a changeling who came into the cult as a baby. She had been used to replace the child of a follower but was discovered early on and brought to Fraus as a point of interest. From that point on, Fraus was sort of her de-facto guardian. Other cultists begrudgingly took care of most of her needs, but Fraus tried to keep a close eye on the changeling girl, already thinking of the many ways such a person could be useful to her.
They grew up in the harsh and brutal lifestyle, as a member of a cult she never wanted to be in, under Fraus- a terrifying force in her life. Eeb was always afraid of her, trying to please her by doing whatever Fraus demanded simply to get by another day. Despite seeing them as useful, Fraus always hated Eeb, treating the girl more cruelly than some of the others. Sure she thought changelings were disgusting, but her distaste was even more deeply rooted than that. She feared that Eeb, because of what she was, could somehow see past the illusion she employed to make it seem like she had never fallen. Or that she would eventually use her shapeshifting powers to usurp her in the future. The girl was useful to lure people to the cult to sacrifice, yes, but the dangers she posed eventually reached a tipping point when Fraus decided to kill her when she was around 17 years old, worried that as she grew older she would gain more agency. Despite Eeb having not actually done anything yet, Fraus realized the danger was too great and needed to get rid of her. So, she made up a prophecy from Tymora, that a shapeshifting fae would be their downfall, and plotted to kill her. While never telling the changeling this directly, a member of the cult happened to warn her, causing the girl to run away one night. This infuriated Fraus, now having lost track of her and having no way to assure that Eeb couldn’t cause any more problems for the aasimar in the future. But Eeb could look like anyone, so it’s not like she could just go out and try and search for them. And so Fraus tries to relax. Eeb won’t survive more than a few weeks all alone; she had never lived outside the cult before, only leaving to do their bidding. And the girl was worthless and pathetic; surely she’d die all on her own. Fraus tells the cult she killed the fae in secret, the only one knowing the truth being Cherie, her wife. And the rest of the cult, who didn’t much like or trust Eeb anyway, seemed happy to believe it.
