Stone and Meg met one night in the forest beyond the territories. It wasn't anything serious at first. Just flirting and occasional hanging out until Meg got pregnant. It wasn't planned, or even an idea in either of the cat's minds. This unexpected pregnancy cause the two to decide if they were going to raise these kits together or alone. After a good week of talking and debating the choice, the two decided to stay together. Perhaps they would separate when their kits were old enough to be on their own, or maybe they would remain together- they weren't sure. Things were fine for a time, at least until the weird issues near the clans began. The flooding was effecting the lands around the territories, and Meg and Stone grew more and more hungry and desperate. They would sneak into the territories just to get a chance to hunt, but it was a risky move with the clans being as large as they are, so they did it rarely. One a particularly stormy day, Meg went into labor and gave birth to a single kitten. However the two only had a few days of peace before the flood that nearly took out EmberClan. The two rogues thought they could use this as a chance to hunt on EmberClan territory while they were in shambles- but during a hunt, Stone was caught off guard and slipped into rushing water of the lake, and drowned. Meg was injured trying to save him, cutting her leg very deeply. As a few days passed, Meg realized her leg was infected, and she was dying. Desperate to keep kitten alive, Meg carried her kitten into the EmberClan lands and left him on a stump, hoping that he would be able to be found by the clan cats. And with that, the she-cat kissed her kitten goodbye and limped away, feeling herself fading to infection and later that night would die. 

Kithood [ 0 - 6 moons ] >

    Left on a fallen log, surrounded by dew covered grass, ferns, lupine flowers and mushrooms, the little kitten wailed loudly, his stomach growling and his whisker cold and wet. His calls echoed off the trees and stones of EmberClan. Time seemed to pass, and the sun got low in the sky when Petaldrift and her patrol heard the weak cries of a kitten. They were all shocked by that, and they searched for the kitten, but it was Petaldrift that found the little kit on the log, crying for help and food. The moment he saw the Warrior, he got quiet and watched her curiously. Petaldrift came up to the kitten and smiled, feeling her heart swell with the sense of hope and love. The patrol caught up with Petraldrift and she had already picked the little kitten up, carrying him back to camp. Pikestar didn't hesitate to accept the kitten into the Clan, though there was a patrol that was sent out to find the parents, but to no success. In that time, it was Petaldrift that took it upon herself to act as a parent. Once it was clear that the little kit had no one to turn to, Petaldrift decided to adopt him, and named him Lupinekit, after the beautiful flowers that grew around the fallen log she had found him on.

Not long after Lupinekit was taken in by EmberClan and Petaldrift, it seemed that a great Quest was in need. From EmberClan, the cats Ganderslash, Primrosedawn and Skipperpaw were chosen, and on the day of their departure, an earthquake shook the land. Around the same time, a few cats were harmed and one even died during an incident at the Bathing Boulders and a very aggressive bee attack. A few months later, Green-leaf began, and things had somewhat calmed. A moon after that, the Quest cats had returned!

Lupinepaw was made an Apprentice at 6 months, and given to Burntshadow to help them become a more confident character later in life.
