"Shh, the voices - can you hear them?!"
Selkie's one of 16 wolves that survived a bomb going off in Valgard's old territory. She ended up moving places with her pack, searching for a new land to set up in. Left with no family, PTSD and unknown surroundings, Selkie began to show off some early stages of schizophrenia. It was vagely discussed in the pack before the explosion, that Selkie's grandmother also had the condition. She is focused on developing her task as a healer and still has a slight hope of finding her long-lost sister.
She's not particularly fluffy, her built being rather bulky, her chest being pushed upfront. She has long, thin legs, but a relatively short neck and tail. Her ears are large and with little tuffs on their ends. She also has a small tuff of fur on her head. There are two faily shallow scars located on her sholder and cheek. Because of her light fur she more often than not can be seen with her paws and underbelly quite dirty, from sleeping on a bare ground.
Selkie's voice might sound harsh and uncanny to some - since the day of the bomb explosion she can't seem to get rid of the feeling of sore throat.

Personality
Focused
Generally, when Selkie sets her mind to something, she can stay focused on it for a very long time. She has a specific target set for her, which she often unintentionally uses to take her mind of unpleasant or hurtful things. Since the bomb explosion, she focused herself on learning every bit of herbalism there is to be learned.
Self-sufficient
Even though not long had passed since Valgard left the old territory, Selkie had to adapt to be fairy self sufficient. She figured out a way for herself to survive with as smallest help from the rest of the pack as possible, since she no longer trust the world to keep others around her.
Loud & Talkative
A part of coping with a lost for Selkie is generally making a fuss around herself. She's trying to stay on top of things, fill the space with her presence and also makes her best to drown out the quiet voices she hears from time to time. She speaks a lot, often without much sense, just to talk.
Witty
Even though it might not seem that way, Selkie is a pretty smart creature. She is quick to respond, often making a point that no one would expect from her. She generally doesn't let anyone get a top of her head.
Oversensitive
The tragedy left Selkie off with a sensivity off the charts. She often lashes out, feels easily attacked. She often cries from anger. She's generally very easy to offend.
Indiscreet
It's hard for Selkie to keep a secret or take a note of emotions or in her surrounding. It's fairly common for her to say something mean, mostly without meaning to be rude; or ask a question that definitely shouldn't be asked.

History
Puphood
Selkie's life started out pretty normally. She was born in the old Valgard territory, right at the beginning of Ylva's rule. Her parents were Delta's of the pack, her mother a hunter and father a howler. Occasionally, she heard some rumors and murmured stories about her "crazy" grandma, but because her parents never really cared that much of it and the grandma died before Selkie was born, nothing pushed her to explore the stories further.
She grew up with her older sister and twin brother.
Adolescence
Right about when Selkie and Illyrio were to reach adolescence, Arabeska suddenly disappeared from the pack. She was an adult by then, so it wasn't uncommon for her to change packs - the problem was, no one new what happen, she was just gone one day and never returned. No information were found about her, despite all the asking around. Her body was never found either, so the family assumed she's alive and well - never did they stop searching for her, though.
It wasn't long before Selkie started to show interest in herbalism. She was always to be found near Valgard's healers, picking up whatever she could in preparations for the time she'd have to choose her path as Delta. She was a quick learner with a passion, always ready to help wherever she was needed.
The bomb
BThe day wasn't too memorable and didn't stray away from other times the pack would host feasts, at least for Selkie and her family. Her mother was off for a hunt, and her father was practising with Illyrio, since he chose to follow Toriac's footsteps. It was a little late for them to actually get their Delta rank, but the search for Arabesca turned their life upside down. They were to prove themselves soon, though.
Till this day, Selkie's pretty sure that the only reason she actually survived was the fact, that she got to the feast a little bit late. She got a little preoccupied with her daily stroll through the forest that she practiced in a hopefull search for her sister. It was her tradition, and this time she though she got Arabesca's scent. It was all wishful thinking though, as it's been such a long time since she actually saw or felt her sister, she couldn't possibly get that.
She has only just gotten to the place that her packmates celebrated in, when a sudden, incredibly loud bang nocked her off her feet. A sharp painful feeling crossed her cheek and shoulder, as she landed on the ground, blacking out for a moment. When she woke up, she wasn't sure where she was for a second - everything that surrounded her was turned to ashes, the trees burned down almost to the coal, the landscape not recognizable. Here and there some small fire tonguages licked what remained from the plants in the area. Only after a while, when she regained focus in her sight, was she able to gaze up on the sheer horror before her - bodies, upon bodies, upon bodies, piling up all around. She got up immediately, though still dizzy, and began shouting her family names and screaming in terror. Soon she found them, their cold, empty eyes looking in an undefined direction. She knew that she'd never forgot that day and that nothing will ever be the same.
Shortly she noticed and gathered up with a few wolves that remained of Valgard. Shortly they knew what caused the explosion. Shortly they set off in search for a new place to inhabit, leaving their previous lives behind, alongsite with almost everything they knew and loved. What shook the pack even more was the passing of their beloved Alpha - how could they figure everything out without her? Or how could Selkie go on with no close soul left for her to lean on?
The search
Since the bomb went off in Valgard's old territory, the pack has been moving around in hopes of finding a new place to live. With them, Selkie followed. Just like for her remaining packmates, the tragedy tore a hole in her heart. Seeing all her loved ones dead, surrounded by ash and fiery landscape left her off with a severe PTSD. Since then she also began to hear some occasional voices, speaking quietly just "behind the ear". Firstly the voices weren't too hard to ignore, the words indistinguishable, but soon they grew in strength, and now Selkie can sometimes understand what they are saying - and it's not anything nice. Sometimes, usually deep in the night, when memories flood her head, the voices are just screaming. And with everyday the screams are a little louder.
