Nergal

Nergal started out as a deity in the Sumerian religion, but as his original religion died out in the world he transitioned to working as a greater demon in hell. The work is pretty similar to his old bag and he gets satisfaction out what he does, though has very little interest in the politics of hell which is why he spends a decent amount of time in purgatory.

Greater Demon - Nergal: Lord of the Gates. A patron of earthbound demons. If ever there is a mention of an earthly “gate to hell” upon the mortal plane, it was put there by Nergal. He could also be considered a demonic travel agent, of sorts, for those lesser demons in Hell. He is the one who approves demonic passage from Hell. He lives in Dis and is an associate of Sathanus, but it is not uncommon for him to be found topside in Purgatory.
