THIS IS A SEMI-OPEN SPECIES
I can't stop you, but please respect my wishes:
- Semi-open species mean that anyone may create a design, but it must be approved ot it must be linked here so the species creator (me) can see them :3
- a character can only have one of the rare traits at a time
- Characters can have feral form and anthro as well
- But feral form is main, so the description below will apply to it.
- First created character from this species is Sapphire :3
OVERVIEW:
- Feline-like creatures live in mountain forests (most often) or in other hard-to-reach places.
- Group creatures, loners are very rare (most often individuals with one wing or albinos). They live in quite large groups.
- Very territorial.
- Love shiny things.
- Often wear jewelry made of everything from flowers by pebbles to gemstones and gold. Colorful feathers stuck in fur are okay too! Everything that is colorful/ shiny is suitable.
- They are great climbers.
- Alatuses are capable of crafting tools and building buildings.
- They don't have specific dominant character traits. It all depends on the individual.
- One our year is about three years for alatuses. They usually live around 30-35 years. They may live a little longer, but within reason please.
- If the fur has a natural color, the names are most often associated with nature, e.g. Pine, Storm, Hyacinth.
- If the fur has a unnatural color, the names are most often associated with gems, e.g. Onyx, Sapphire, Alexandrite.
- Height of adult individuals (about 7-8 years old) range from 0,35m to 0,50m (height at the withers). [size like a fox]

- Paw pads and nose are most often in same colour.
- Blood is red/ dark red. Do not use other colours.
- Biologically feathers can only be on the wings. Please don't add them on the tail or anything. Unless it is as part of decorations.
- Any natural eye color is allowed (eg like a cat's). Do not make their eyes neon green, dark purple, etc.
- Mouth can have any colour, same as in case of fur, but please definitely don't use neon colors.
- Teeth can only have natural colors - white/ yellowish.
TRAITS:
Short fur:
All creatures, without exception, have short fur all over their body. The only exception may be the neck, but more on that later. Fur can be thin or dense, it is up to you. Same as whether it will be rough or soft. Here you can do whatever you want.
longer fur around neck/ none:
This triat is optional, but it occurs quite often.
natural fur color:
The most common colors of the fur are those like real animals have, eg cats, dogs. If you want to make your character look like a lycaon or leopard, go ahead.
Light fur colors are acceptable, but not pure white! White individuals are often excluded from society. More about it in 'Rare Traits' tab.
ear tufts/ none:
This triat is optional, but it occurs quite often.
Tufts can be in any size, but within reason please don't make them too big.
fluffy tail tip/ none:
This triat is optional, but it occurs quite often.

claws:
Species have retractable claws like cat or fox. Claws always have dark colours in shades of gray.
ears:
The ears are similar to the cat's ears. Don't make them big, long, etc.
unnatural fur colour:
If you want your character can have pink, green fur, do whatever u wish. But don't make it a parrot, and definitely don't use neon colors.
wings:
Contrary to appearances, wings are not the most common feature. A character can only have wings if:
- Both parents have them. Nevertheless, the probability is 50%.
- One parent have them but they was from relationship of two winged alatuses. Nevertheless, the probability is 10%.
short tail:
Short tails are quite rare and occur only when someone from the closest family had one (parents / grandparents / sometimes even great-grandparents). If a character has a short tail, they has big problems with flying or even just gliding, so they necessarily can't do it and stay on ground.
long fur on tail:
Character have long fur on whole tail, not only on tip.
small wings:
Character have two wings, but they are minimum from half to max 1/4 size of normal wings.
one wing:
Character have only one wing in usual size. Such characters most often become loners because they are often not accepted by society.
Albinos/ white fur:
Here it is similar to the case above.
This is also the case for characters with predominance of white over another fur color.
Changing the color of the fur depending on the light:

The shade of the fur changes depending on the light. Depends if it's day or night or if character is indoors or outdoors. It works just like with gems.
