Semyaza used to help the egg caretaker take care of lost eggs and orphans. She made a difference in many aetherling’s lives. Because of her air sac cancer she had to retire. Semyaza’s greatest loss is her independence. Her family has to take care of her and it’s a new experience for the once very independent dragon. She isn’t a fan.

Life before cancer

Semyaza was at the beach during the lover's ritual when she found a spare egg lying around. It didn't seem to belong to anyone and she knew she couldn't just leave the poor life there to rot. She grasped it in her paws and gently flew it home. Her parents were surprised and wondered who she had done the lover's ritual with. Once she had explained it took some convincing to get them to let her raise the little egg like her own. She was only nineteen at the time and they were afraid they would have to do the raising themselves. Once the egg hatched she and the aetherling were inseparable. She had no other commitments at the time so she was able to devote herself fully to the care of this young dragon. Once the dragon started to get older and the next ritual came around a neighbor who had heard of Semyaza's deed brought her another two eggs that had been abandoned. Eventually, she became a registered foster parent and moved from her parent's place and took care of five little ones. Then the diagnosis came.

Life after cancer

Everything was taken at the same time. The council saw her unfit to keep fostering the dragonets. They made her surrender her status as foster mother. The aetherlings went to new homes and she had to move in with her parents again. She was no longer able to fly and spent her time wondering what it would have been like to have a family of her own with her own lover's ritual. She no longer hung out with her foster parent friends. She sunk into a deep depression. The last big event of Semyaza's life was going to the Festival of Eiar. She was able to see the first aetherling evolve before her death.
