Biography

Pepper is an optimistic and determined young woman who was born and raised in Bucks Rest. She can be stubborn with her plans and ideas, and gives in to her impulsiveness a lot. Pepper wants to move to the big city and start a new, more interesting life but current ties to Bucks Rest keeps her grounded. She has had a fascination with urban legends ever since she was a child, and runs a blog as an amateur cryptozoologist.

History

Pepper grew up with paranormal shows and movies as a child and fostered a love for monsters and all things creepy. Her interest peaked when she started hearing of rumours of cryptids in the nearby forests as a teen. However she never understood why her family would tell her to never talk about them, especially around others.

Her town gained internet access when she moved into her first apartment, and she set up an online anonymous blog called Mysteries of Bucks Rest. From then on, Pepper took it upon herself to explore and document her adventures in the woods. For a few years, she would only make mundane discoveries- but that changed when she suddenly met a strange monster.

Pepper becomes suddenly obsessed with this monster and even nicknames him the "Goatman". Over the course of the summer, her and the Goatman cross paths several times and they get to know each other. Eventually, she meets the other cryptids of the forest and tries her hardest to keep their an existence a secret.

Relationships

Billy Elkins

Billy and Pepper met in middle school over their love for the paranormal, and have been best friends since - weird kids stick together! Without Billy, Pepper's crazy plans would get out of hand. Without Pepper, Billy would never find the courage to explore. Billy is the first person she confides in about the local cryptids.

Kenneth Goodwin

Pepper regards Kenneth as an uncle despite they're not related, just a really good family friend. She thinks he's a bit dated and sometimes tries to teach him about new tech. Kenneth tries to keep an eye out for Pepper and regards her almost as his own child.

Heather Goodwin

She works for Heather as a waitress at the diner. Heather can seem like an overbearing mother at times, but Pepper know she only means well. Sometimes Pepper feels she's hiding something but knows it's best not to pry with a woman like her.

Monster of Bucks Rest

Pepper refers to him as the "Goatman". He was the first cryptid she saw and the one she always runs into. He seems softer (and cuter) than the other cryptids, he always has a smile when he sees Pepper, and oh no she's fallen for him.
