Irena is someone who always is out to look for more fun and experiences on land. While she has a home she can come back to, she isn't one to stay in one place for an extendedly long period of time. Irena's always out blowing her income on food, thrilling experiences, and outings with friends.
While technically four different sea terrors inhabit her body, the two smaller fish-like terrors mostly get ignored and are just there for the ride. The larger terrors get more say in how the body acts, but all of them seem to somehow be running on the same thought processes and want the best for the body (and themselves)!
freewheeling . flippant . open-minded
With a somewhat free and flippant attitude towards life, Irena doesn't take things too seriously- From disputes between friends, to failures in her own life, and even to the loss of someone she knew. While it could be taken as a negative in some aspects, this also helps her so she isn't too tied down by grief and can be efficient with enjoying her life and bringing a light-hearted atmosphere everywhere she goes.
She's also very open minded to all sorts of new ideas, good or bad. Sometimes she ends up accepting an idea presented to her despite it being irrational at its core, and someone else ends up having to correct her back on the right track.
Short-sighted . Blunt . Uncritical
Irena is someone who could read as quite a bit short-sighted at times, thinking more about her present or upcoming happiness rather than the long-term future. Without any sort of savings accounts, she often relies on the goodwill of others, or simply her good luck to get by. Unfortunately, she's also wronged a couple people who have helped her by being too blunt and unfiltered with her thoughts.
Still, she doesn't have any ill will, and often can be gullible or uncritical towards others. The type to have fallen for scams and not completely learned from it the next time, Irena often believes things that are "too good to be true".
The Beginning. . .
In the depth of the Sunken Eye Gorge of the Challenger Deep, three creatures existed at different times and in different places. There was a shark-like naut (fee), an octopus-like naut (fi), and two smaller fish-like parasites leeching off of the octopus-like naut (fo & fum). Fee had lost its eyes in a battle with another sea terror, and Fi lost one of its limbs, but both of them being larger had heard from other nauts of the world above sea. Knowing that they were both disadvantaged due to losing parts of their body, they decided to truce and work to form a shell together. They ascended from the depths, breaching the water, and before them they saw the vast sky.
The Middle. . .
Knowing that they had the ability to generate their own shell, they attempted multiple times but could not generate a 'perfect' shell that they could all agree on. Traversing a nearby forest as they sought out food and shelter, not yet perfecting their appearance enough to hold a job or wander in the populated towns and cities, they found the body of a hanged girl.
From the contents in her backpack, it appeared that she had been rejected from university for a second time, and thus decided that her life was no longer worth living. So somewhat shamelessly, the colony of sea terrors inhabited the new vessel and began life anew. And from the papers in the bag she was carrying, her named seemed to be 'Irena', so thus they adapted her name as well.
Not wanting for the real Irena's parents to wonder forever where their child was, they ripped out her skeleton, organs, teeth and ears from the original body and left it near the hanging site with a couple of her original belongings. Removing the suicide note, the colony hoped that if the body were found, perhaps it would be easier on the parents to think that Irena was murdered versus committed suicide. Assuming that it would serve as enough evidence for her death, the colony walked endlessly away from the forest, further and further along the ocean, until it ran into a beachfront ice cream shack glowing faintly in the dark of the night.
The Present. . .

- Her hair gradient goes from a beige-ish gray color to a bright red towards the tips
- Irena does not have human ears, and instead has two oyster-like shells in its place
- Irena's backpack is optional, but when wearing it she always likes to dangle two keychains- A goldfish keychain and a koi head figure keychain, both of which she got at a gachapon in front of a convenience store
- Since their body is a borrowed body and not something they generated themselves, Irena is always a bit bothered if she might run into someone who knew the original 'Irena'... Their current plan if that ever happens is simply to run away!
- They love to go shopping and buy clothes, little cute trinkets, toys, or 'useful' things! All of the sea terrors seem to enjoy material goods that weren't available in the trenches.
- She has a little bit of a gacha addiction, prefering the surprise involved in it even if she doesn't get something she likes.
