Mysterious legendary sea monster-spirit, Perlanera, lives in deep waters of Ocean, in place where parts of their soul still rest on dirty sand, deep down under surface. In the past Perlanera was very friendly spirit, they wanted to help people who traveled across the seas and be a good companion for them. Sadly, it didn't end well. Now Perlanera keep guarding their pearls (soul parts) and from time to time they send huge octopus to destroy ship, if it happens to travel through their teritory or they just feel weird about this ship and its presence.
Unpleasant and highly dangerous Perlanera feels sad all the time, deep inside their chest. This is one of the reasons why this sea monster (because this is they get called by people in time) acts like angry beasts, who destroy ships passing by and ends people's lives by drowning them in the middle of ocean.

Story
Black Pearls
In the past Perlanera was very happy, positive and helpful spirit. They liked to join travelers, they can play music, liked to dance and have fun with people. They believed that they're "spirit of luck", who can keep people safe and give them luck. Sadly, it was totally opposite. Perlanera never knew that their soul is connected with soul of monster octopus, huge sea creature who entered this realm probably by accident. Because of this connection, Perlanera's soul was bad and spread darkness around, in result it not only gave people bad luck, but also summoned monster octopus when Perlanera visited their ship in open ocean. Octopus kept attack every ship passing by, not only to get some food but also just because it was a monster with will of destroying. After few years people realized that all those incidents were Perlanera's fault. It wasn't easy to notice, simply because almost no one survived octopus' attack so for a long time people didn't knew that Perlanera's presence almost always means a disaster. But when they found out, they didn't have a mercy to poor spirit. They took away their soul and destroyed them on many parts - all those parts they threw to the sea water. They also kicked them out from villages, from now Perlanera supposted to live on the sea only. They choose to go under the water. Heartbroken Perlanera for very long time just stay hidden, but in time they started to feel more and more rage toward people, who broke their soul. Still connected with octopus, they started to send giant monster to attack all ships which passed nearby. This was a way to show their angery and sadness. Black parts of their soul became black pearls and thousands years later, when Perlanera's history became a legend, people from whole world wanted to own a part of Perlanera's soul, but it wasn't an easy task to do - Perlanera protected them and everyone who tried to stole it had to die. If anyone succeed and stole it, Perlanera chased them until they catched and killed the thief. Most of the people just left them alone, but there's still a lot of rich crazy guys who wants to own one of black pearls.
Trivia
- Always looks like they're crying. When eyes are open, they are empty and black.
- Goes on land only to catch a thief and get back their pearl. They're still afraid of being hated by people in face.
- Uses old ropes as clothes and decoration

Relationships
Sometimes Perlanera see Shiyu, who fly high up the sky and just dream that one day they might became friends. For them Shiyu as half-god is potentially better and they hope that Shiyu won't hurt them as people did in the past.
They met once or twice, but Shinrayah never came closer. Seems like he's some kind of afraid of Perlanera, but in fact he doesn't need to be scared.
They saw them once, when chased a thief through the lands. Maybe one day they will meet again, who knows.
