Introduction

Shapeshifters are a living creatures which have a human and animal form. They can shapeshift whenever they want but it needs a lot of training, because it is easy to loose control over it.There's no such a thing like "half animal form", it isn't possible to be in this form more than 1 minute because it's just transformation. Shapeshifters can identify themselfes as animal, human or both. Animal form can't be choosed, it's genetic but unrealistic animal hybrids aren't possible. However in the past many years ago, there was a dinosaur shapeshifters, they went extinct, but some of the scientists are trying to bring them back to life but it isn't so easy to make it happen. Shapeshifters live with humans, hiding their animal form because people are afraid of them or even hunting for them. It is possible to recognize a shapeshifter by their eye color. Their eye color depends of their animal form. Shapeshifters often use contact lenses to change their eye color.

Shapeshifter's features

Their eye color is exactly like their animal form. That means their eyes in human form can be yellow because their animal form is a wolf, but remember wolves cannot have blue eyes or other people's eye color. Shapeshifter's eye color always depends on animal form, not the human one. They are also faster and stronger than humans. Their hair color always depends on human form, that means wolf shapeshifter in their animal form can have white fur, but in human form their hair will be brown,blonde,ginger or black, there's is no such a "natural white or gray hair" thing. If their animal form is a carnivore then in human form have long sharp claws and fangs and if their animal form is a herbivore there's no a special look trait in human form.

Kinds of shapeshifters

There's a few kinds of shapeshifters, it doesn't need to be specifed which type is your oc. One is called Hidden shapeshifter and they live in cities and towns. The other kinds are wild shapeshifters, and they are divided into subspecies like natural and unnatural.

Hidden shapeshifters

live among people, they go to work, school in their human form. There's no such a thing like "shapeshifter's school", this doesn't exist because people are scared of them and even hunting for them. Some of shapeshifters try to forget their animal form and force themselfes to not use their other form even in their house. Other sort of shapeshifters actually like their animal form and use it only in house or somewhere where nobody will notice them, but they live among the people because prefer human life than animal life at all.

Wild shapeshifters

They feel strong connection to their animal form and don't like human society. They are demonizing humans because wild shapeshifters are scared of them or just don't like them. Shapeshifters who live in the wild think the true beauty of life is being free among the nature. They also think that living in small communities is better, they prefer their own family members and friends than society full of unknown people like human society does.

Wild natural shapeshifters

They are kind of shapeshifters who were born in the wild and grow up like animals or wild humans. They can communicate in human language but they're not good at it, it's not that bad but could be better. It is like this because they spend more time in animal form rather human form.

Wild unnatural shapeshifters

They just ran away from human society and live in the woods

Geneticts

animal form is a bloodline thing, you can inherit your form from parents, grandparents and even other family members. There isn't possible to be unnatural hybrid, you can be only natural hybrid. That means there isn't fox x wolf hybrid because this doesn't exist in real life, but you can be a liger, mule, wolfdog etc. If there is a gene cross between deer shapeshifter and wolf shapeshifter, then is 50% chance for deer shapeshifter baby or there is 50% chance for a wolf shapeshifter baby.

Packs, herds, groups, etc.

Wild shapeshifters prefer to life in groups which are different called, depending on species and rules in it. Because of people who are hunting for them, they have to look like a real animal group, to avoid danger. For example wolf shapeshifters would like to live with other wolf shapeshifters in group called pack. Ofcourse, it can be different, for example they can live in mixed species groups with specific rules for example, they allow to join only forest species shapeshifters. However, they can also live in chaotic group with mixed habitat and species shapeshifters. Literaly there's no rule on it how they live.

Diet

Shapeshifters can eat every human food without any damage on their health, but their food preference depends on their animal form. For example carnivore shapeshifter may prefer salty food, love different kinds of meat, but they still can eat vegetables, ice cream, chocolate etc. The same thing goes with herbivores, they can prefer sweet food like fruits or vegetables, they usually are vegetarians or vegans but they still can eat meat without any damage on their health. However, in animal form they prefer to eat the same food like wild animals do because it is more comfortable for them.
