Backstory

Siralla was born in Dragon Bridge, into a family of Imperial Soldiers and it was no surprise when Siralla announced at a young age that she would become a soldier just like the rest of her family and defend the empire. She ended up in a fight shortly before she joined the Legion with an Altmer recruit (named Naemriil Aedonin) who was looking to become an Imperial Battlemage and the Altmer ended up shocking Siralla in pure rage, leaving the left side of her face, neck, shoulder, and chest all scarred with marks from the lighting. As if to defy the damage done to her, and prove herself better than the Altmer, Siralla took the route to become a battlemage herself. It was difficult for the Nord; she didn't have nearly as much innate talent as the other recruits, but she persevered and found a way to make things work in her favor.

She opted to use magic to augment her physical prowess, with Alteration coming most naturally to her, and bend Daedra to her considerable will in the forms of bound weaponry. While the breadth of her magical knowledge was never particularly wide, the magics that Siralla learned certainly did the work she needed, and she came out of the school as a full fledged Battlemage. Of course, Naemriil rubbed it in her face that he had more sheer talent and had graduated well before she had, but Siralla did her best to ignore the altmer. The nord woman found herself frequently in trouble with her commanders for getting into arguments and disagreements with Naemriil. She was the provoker as often as the provoked, however. This likely wasn't helped by the fact her father had been among those fighting against the Altmer in the war, and had raised Siralla with quite a bit of bias and hatred directed towards the High Elves.

When Ulfric killed High King Torygg, Siralla was stationed in Bruma. She had been keeping up with the events in Skyrim, and was just as displeased as many other Nords with the White-Gold Concordant and the Altmer's control over the Empire. She decided to leave the Imperial Legion, killing Naemriil in the process of deserting and escaping to Skyrim. It took some time for her to reach Windhelm, but when she did she happily joined up with the Stormcloaks.
