Eureka

Eureka doesn’t know…how or why she was transported to Twisted Wonderland, but, she’s determined to find out. Even if that means pretending to be a guy and teaming up with a spoiled little cat monster!

“There are plenty of feminine men in this world! Mr. Eureka just so happens to be one of them!”
“…eh-?”

There’s talent inside her that is still untapped, but, Eureka is more than happy just standing aside and helping out those above her to shine and let their own magic powers flourish. She isn’t even supposed to BE here, so, why should she stand out?

Most notably, she’s quelled several Overblots at this point with ease. But how? She doesn’t even have a pen, she doesn’t even GO here-

Quiet, shy, and incredibly awkward, Eureka is usually left in the “care” of Ace and Deuce, who have become her “bodyguards” since discovering her secret. They don’t do a very good job though, but, she’s happy and thankful to have them as her friends. She’s willing to try and befriend everyone and anyone, even if she’s very bad at it! After all, fitting in is best, especially in a place like this…right? That way no one will be suspicious of her! …right?

Eureka’s downtime is spent either fixing up her disaster dorm or spoiling Grim, but most of the time another student comes along and pulls her into whatever nonsense they’re up to. But she doesn’t mind, really! She’s happy to be brought along!

Maybe she’s supposed to be here after all?

Personality: Eureka is best described with “s” words; shy, skittish, selfless, and honestly? A little stupid.

Because she’s trying to pass as a boy, most of the time Eureka is doing her best to seem gruff and boy-ish…which isn’t super convincing. Despite that, she’s quiet and soft-spoken and tries not to put herself front and center. But, being the magicless human from another world who’s revived a once dead dorm, eyes are always watching her whether she likes it or not.

Eureka is…soft? Emotions run high in her and it’s not something she’s proud of. She cries very easily, be it happy or sad, and it can be incredibly frustrating to get others to take you seriously when globs of Ghibli tears are streaming down your cheeks. She’s an empath at heart and always tries to see things from different angles as to better understand situations. It can be a disadvantage to her for sure, but it’s just the way she’s wired. She isn’t here to become some great mage herself, no. So if she can somehow help others instead, then, she’s going to give it her all! 

…even if she fails usually. She’s pretty clumsy and gets stuck in her head a lot! Back at home, she was a huge fan of shojou manga and tends to have grandiose fantasies about how things will play out here in Twisted Wonderland. …they are always wrong. Did her favorite stories lie to her!? She’s shocked and soul-shattered every time! Why can’t her romantic fantasies be real? Why is everyone at this school so difficult and…kind of terrible?

I would describe Eureka kind of like glass; it’s fragile, but a broken piece can still really mess you up, you know?
There’s a Haruhi Fujioka-esque cynicism behind all of her martyr-ing and hard work, as she’s slowly realizing that the predicament she’s stuck in isn’t all rose petals and bubbly backgrounds and…she’s stuck here. Probably forever. And it stings just a little! Sometimes she’ll speak up about these feelings, but it’s usually only when she’s feeling extra vulnerable and defeated.

Eureka doesn’t have many hobbies she gets to enjoy; most of the time she’s just trying to keep Grim out of trouble or is getting dragged along to support her friends. But that’s okay! She doesn’t mind! She’s really just happy to be included, at the end of the day. Because despite all of her mistakes and misunderstandings, it means they still care about…her. Not the really pathetic boy she’s trying to be, but the real Yuurika!
