The Mad Hatter
Hatter is a member of finance/negotiation. Biography"Time to go out with a bang." As Silas' background before waking up is unknown to both him and everyone else, the only thing known to certain people is the experience he faced after waking up and being caught by the Penitentiary. Although he's a happy go-lucky, bubbly nerd, it's very hard for Silas to trust someone right away, and the only person he can truly trust are those he's gained a bond with. He tends to carry several small objects on him and will sneak some on those he's with on missions, just in case he runs out. Personality+ Bubbly, friendly, nerdy, protective, loyal, good listener and curious. AbilitiesExplosive Infusion Backstory?Heavy trigger warnings ahead for implications of sexual violence against a minor and young adults. Do not toggle the spoiler if this is a sensitive topic for you personally. You have been warned! **TRIGGER WARNINGS** [this type of back story is NOT to be repeated, meaning no one else by moderator discretion is allowed to have a similar backstory] There wasn't anything that Silas could remember before opening his eyes and seeing the horrors around him... Silas' first moments of consciousness was of a dark room with no memories of who or what he had become. He knew he was a person but there was something about him that made Silas feel like he wasn't completely human anymore. The feel of his skin was lukewarm and there were noticeable indentations of bolts and screws in his joints, and seam-like lines he traced with fingers that still retained a sense of touch. He would soon come to realize he wasn't completely human anymore. He also noticed he was sparsely dressed in loose pants he could not determine the colour of with darkness all around him. It soon became evident that he was not alone in this dark place. He picked out silhouettes of figures standing close to the walls or curled into a ball in a corner. Some were shuffling aimlessly around the dim space. Their ages were mixed from what he could see, the youngest looked to be about 5 years old... They also seemed to have the same lines and indentations of bolts like him too and their eyes held a vacancy that unnerved him, and he decided he wanted to leave. A clinking brought his attention to the shackles around his ankles however. Leaving was not permitted it seemed. His plans of escape were interrupted when a door opened in the far wall to his left, spilling light into the dark room and illuminating Silas and half the room's occupants as a group of wealthy older looking men entered. Silas couldn't see their faces because of the light at their backs and a pristine looking white hallway just beyond the room, but he could feel their hungry eyes rove over him and making his skin crawl. The urgency to escape from this unknown place had made his stomach flip with nausea and he swallowed the bile that was rising in his throat. It was clear these men were some sort of 'buyers' and he was one of the 'products' to be bought. "I'll take this one." A gruff voice said, pulling Silas' attention away from the bright doorway to freedom. One of the men had approached while he'd been watching the others file in and he shied away from this man, visibly wilting. Plucking up enough courage, Silas was about to ask what he meant but before the words could form on his lips he was roughly forced to stand up and pushed towards the door the men had entered. An uneasiness swept over his body as he was lead down the white hallway, bright against his eyes after being in that dark room. He was stopped with a hand on his shoulder in front of another door that was opened and Silas was shoved inside, where he was greeted by a fancy plush room with a large bed in the middle. "This one's a new model and you're our best patron, so we'll let you test it out before your purchase. For our quality and your satisfaction, sir." Silas turned his head towards the man who spoke and ask what was going on, but was grabbed by the wrist and pulled farther into the room, the door closing behind him with an audible 'click'. Panic began to set in when he was tossed upon the bed, barely registering the softness of the silk beneath his bare back as the older man who had chosen him loomed over his prone form. Silas struggled and braced his hands against the man's hairy chest as greedy hands found his waistband and began removing the ill-fitting garment. "Please no..." He pleaded in a small voice he could barely hear himself. Something in his brain told him he was made for this purpose of pleasing his human owners and he shouldn't be compliant, but something else in Silas was repulsed by this and refused to comply. He began to struggle harder and Silas' eyes unconsciously focused on a gold ring around the older man's finger, snapping his fingers while infusing it with some desperate will and watching in surprise as the ring exploded. The old man recoiled and held his bleeding hand, his face scrunched up in a grimace of pain. Silas didn't hesitate and took this opportunity to run. He wasn't entirely sure what had happened but he didn't care. He just wanted to get away. Away from this horrid place and that gross old man. Silas couldn't remember how he escaped the building he was held captive by, but the next few weeks after his escape consisted of running and hiding before the Penitentiary caught wind of him and he was promptly captured. Apparently he was an Alium and this made him a criminal. They wouldn't even listen to his plea's for protection and about the horrible place he'd woken up in. Some undefined years later, his cryogenic casket was opened and he was offered a hand that he took, but with timid hesitation. The fluffy haired redhead who had freed him said he was there to rescue him and offered sanctuary with a group known as 'Fable'. Side Note: Silas is a victim of sex slave trafficking that specialized in turning runaway's into cyborgs, also known as 'Pleasure-bots'. Sometimes an Alium will be picked up like Silas, but rarely does the process allow them to retain their ability due to extensive enhancements and memory wiping. Silas was a new organic prototype so he most likely retains the most humanity out of all previously made cyborg slaves. His product line was to give the buyer a more 'human-like' experience without the problems of disobedience or defiance. They did not account for Silas to malfunction in that regard. Notes
