Demon Adopt (Sparkle)

Name: Dawning Star (Unwillingly and Helplessly Foisted with the Nickname Sparkle)

A pride demon who aspires to be top dog. One would imagine that having pride is good for a pride demon, but he proves that even demons have standards.

Sparkle's job involves punishing sinners with torture. His success rate is determined by the amount of pain the sinners go through and how many repent. Unfortunately, Sparkle's immense ego prevents him from getting into the mindset of his victims. As a result, any tortures he devises terrify him, but are completely baffling to others. The sinners leave his sessions confused more than pained.

Despite his exceptional incompetence, Sparkle is genuinely good at engineering, flawlessly producing needlessly complicated Rube Goldberg machines which inevitably end in anticlimax. Due to fearing his own tortures more than his victims do, he often cries while putting the machines together. It makes for awkward demon work parties to hear him sobbing in the next room.

Because of his pride, Sparkle is forever doomed to the bottom rung. Regardless, he always believes that the next day is the one his coworkers learn to respect him. It's only a matter of time until he rules the world!
