Kawa is a self-righteous kind of indiviual. They hate being told what to do or how to act, and they have a huge problem with authority. They struggle with feeling empathy due to trauma, but they're not completely detatched from people. Once Kawa forms a bond with someone, its practically unbreakable. They would die for those they hold dear in a heartbeat, even if they haven't spoken or seen each other for years.

Kawa is not exactly a people person, that being said, they do tend to enjoy the presence of children or youths over adults. Kawa has considered having their own children before, but since decided that they would much rather kidnap adopt a child rather than birth their own. When they can, they like to train and teach young ones to defend themselves and even help them out with chores and other activities. Their favorite thing is battling the local kids in non-violent challenges and games.

Kawa has a significant amount of Oni blood in their heritage, both their parents are half Oni. They're of the red Oni descent, which makes them slightly more favorable than blue Oni, but still rather hated by the general public. Kawa was born a female as well, but never felt like that was the correct expression for them. They didn't start transitioning until after their parents were killed, however.

When Kawa was 13, a group of knights accused his parents of the worst possible crime; the pointless slaughter of villagers. They didn't live in the main town of Inazuma at the time, their home was smaller and closer knit, so when a few of the village people were found dead in their homes, no one knew what to think. Unfortunately, a group of knights that had be taking rest in the town accusing Kawa's parents, due to their Oni heritage, and decided to slaughter them as penance for this crime. They were forced to watch the knights drag their parents from their home and behead them. They had no evidence that they killed who was responsible, to Kawa it was impossible that their parents had done this... when the murder had taken place, the family had been cuddled up near the hearth with warm tea in their hands. But that meant nothing to the these foreigners who only saw Kawa's parents for their horns and tall stature.

After their parents were murdered, they ran. Kawa learned to survive rather quickly, living off hunted meals, sleeping in caves or simply under the bare sky. During this time, Kawa learned the art of woodworking, especially in carving intricate wooden masks. The act gave them something to do, as well as merchandise to sell for mora, to eventually save up and purchase a small home in Inazuma.

While travelling, they picked up a few travelling companions [this part is a wip, but basically they tragically lost these companions... and now carry their deactivated visions on thier belt.]

Shortly after moving into Inazuma, they met the infamous Itto and the Arataki Gang. He decided to challenge Itto to a duel, which the Oni took very seriously. The two battled it out, and eventually came to a draw, although to this day Kawa thinks Itto went easy on them. After the battle, they were invited to join Itto's gang.

With the emotional and material support of their new group of friends, they managed to hone their skills in both sword play and craftsmanship. They're known a well known mask and accessory artisan across Inazuma, with masks selling for upwards of 500,000 mora, even more for custom made ones.

At 19, they met the absolute menace named Tartaglia, often called Childe. Upon first meeting, Kawa challenged him to a battle. They were curious about this infamous man well known for his might in combat. Their first fight was a surprising victory for Kawa, it seemed that Childe had severely underestimated Kawa's battle skill and might, especially since he refused to use his vision, since his opponent didn't have one. However, every battle after that, Childe has bested Kawa.

Kawa typically waits for Childe to come to Inazuma, but when he's been away too long, they have no problem hunting down the scoundral. They seem to have some kind of affliction that keeps them coming back to Childe, like an addiction. They love to battle all sorts of willing people, but it feels different when it's Childe... like they're being understood, all their transgressions, all their pain and suffering, being transfered between the two through the clash of weapons.

Will Kawa ever realize that he might feel more than animosity towards Childe, or will they remain ignorant forever? Who knows.........
