History

When Hisashi was human he was a fisherman, but during a major storm he drowned and passed away at sea. With no recollection of how he died, he appeared on the coast with a strange umbrella beside him, a karakasa named Obake. He took the karakasa with him, and traveled inland to a town he once resided. Many years had passed since his death, and there were many changes to the once small town. His family had long since left, leaving him no refuge.

Troubled by his karakasa companion, many towns folk refused to provide services to Hisashi. A kind old woman took Hisashi in, unfazed by his strange appearance and strange companion. She cared for him and allowed him to stay at her home, almost treating Hisashi as her own son. She later fell ill; Hisashi did his best to take care of her until her passing. Before she passed, she gifted Hisashi a small golden coin. Touched by the gesture, Hisashi always carries the gold coin with him, usually worn around his neck, as a treasured item and good luck charm.

Over time Hisahi became lonely and wandered about town, playing harmless pranks. Once while playing pranks near a castle near his town, he was caught by a guardsman. Hisashi was warned regarding his foolishness, and was given a mild punishment of servicing the castle and it's Lord temporarily. During his servitude, he came across a swordsman guard who appeared to be incredibly lonely and lost in thought. Hisashi was inspired to cheer up the man, and later became best friends with the man named Thales. Thales helped him to start living peacefully again, and filled the lonely spot in his heart that missed his family and the elderly woman who once took care of him.

Trivia

• Hisashi is able to phase through walls. He is a ghost, afterall.
• Similar to his karakasa, his tongue can become a ridiculous length. Great for pranks.
• Most of the changes to the world are things Hisa doesn't care about. He mostly enjoys marking/caring for gardens, and fishing.
• He's great at cooking dishes that include fish! Anything else is hit or miss.
• After losing the refuge he had, Hisashi doesn't have an actual home. His friend Thales allows him a spare room but Hisashi does not often stay there and prefers to wander.
• Hisashi's biggest regret is not being able to take care of his family. Because of that, his spirit is trapped.
• As time passes on, Hisashi feels like he's losing more and more memories and becoming unable to retain them.
