Wolfgang was a prince who was part of the House of Strausberg. As he was raised to be spoiled, he often saw him as superior and tend to act very arrogant & prideful, to the point where many people thought he was hard to approach. As few people wanted to be around him, Wolfgang was very lonely and exiled himself from his own kingdom after getting rejected by the girl he wanted for himself. He was also competitive, especially when it came to anything remotely related to his eternal rival, Sirius Greyford.

CW // Death

The start of a rivalry between a wolf & a white lily

Wolfgang Strausberg was the only prince of Grinia Kingdom, a kingdom in Cytus. Living during a period where wars were looked forward to. Grinia Kingdom was well-known for participating in the different wars and for having a fierce rivalry with Laurencia Kingdom. Both kingdoms often fought against each other to prove their superiority. Because of this rivalry, Wolfgang was already involved in the Strausberg’s rivalry with the Greyfords at Laurencia Kingdom.

During one of the kingdoms’ not-so-friendly encounters, Wolfgang met Sirius Greyford, the young prince of his rival kingdom and started a rivalry, whether the latter liked it or not. Another reason Wolfgang considered Sirius to be his rival was because of the noblesse’s expectations of him. To them, Sirius had a lot of potential as a king and was Cytus’s hope to the end of the wars that kept rampaging the country. Having the idea that his kingdom is supposed to be better, Wolfgang worked toward stealing Sirius’s popularity.

Living a lavish life as the prince of Grinia Kingdom

Because his parents raised their son to be the best king in Cytus, Wolfgang lived like a very spoiled prince and was able to gain anything he wanted from not only his parents, but also from his subjects as well. He lived in the best conditions possible and was considered to be one of the people who lived the most comfortably in Grinia Kingdom. Wolfgang was also sent to one of the best schools in Cytus, meaning that he was very educated. Everyone enabled his demeanor to the point where Wolfgang developed a huge ego and became very pretentious, especially when he was around his rival, Sirius.

Despite his attitude, his charisma and the fact he was able to do “everything” attracted several princesses from the other kingdoms. Unfortunately, his heart was only truly happy when he saw one princess: Irene Bethany-Blossom, the princess of Henaelia Kingdom. What was so special about her, you might ask? When it came to war matters, Princess Irene is never seen anywhere. Instead, she is in her castle, constantly keeping the peace she worked very hard in preserving. Not only that, she was known to be a hard-to-get princess who wanted a prince who shared her views on peace.

Wolfgang’s first failure? Happened earlier than he thought

During his teenage years, Wolfgang spent some time learning about Irene by sending some subjects to Henaelia Kingdom on his behalf. He also spent some time learning new things to impress Irene with, such as sailing. After learning about Irene’s likes and dislikes, he set off to Henaelia Kingdom in order to ask her for a date. Little did Wolfgang know, Sirius was invited by Irene and was also present in her castle. It was a perfect opportunity for Grinia Kingdom’s prince to prove his superiority to the prince of Laurencia Kingdom.

He first attempted to prove his superiority by convincing Irene that he would bring peace to Great Britain before Sirius could. This didn’t phase Irene though, as she knew what kind of prince he actually was. Then, he started a battle with his rival in front of the princess and won. Despite this, Irene’s heart was still Sirius’, as she wanted nothing to do with battles and the fact Wolfgang started one repulsed her. She also rejected him for being too pretentious and declared that he won’t be able to keep his subjects if he kept acting like this for the rest of his life.

Spending time alone in the forest

The fact his rival took Irene’s hand was very poorly received by Wolfgang. As a result, he was unable to fulfill his duties for months. At the same time, less people wanted to be around him because of his overall attitude. Unable to deal with the sudden popularity drop and sick of his duties, Wolfgang set up an act so that no one attempted to follow him and fled his kingdom to live in the forest. Before fleeing, he stole one of the kingdom’s swords despite not really knowing how to use one, just in case he needed it.

His education allowed him to survive in the forest with some struggle. His situation forced him to properly learn how to use the sword he stole so that he could defend himself if soldiers from other kingdoms were to spot him in the forest. Despite being alone, Wolfgang was able to enjoy himself and without the constant stress from being a prince, he truly felt content with his life. There was nothing preventing him from doing something and, for the first time, he was able to taste freedom.

...But it was a brief one.

On a very sunny day, he was confronted by some wolves and tried to fight them off so that he could have food for a long time. Unfortunately for him, the odds were stacked against him, as he was a simple man with a sword versus a pack of wolves. Not only that, he happened to be fighting in a zone where the sun was blinding. Not only Wolfgang was exhausted from trying to fight wolves, he was also blinded by the sun. The last thing he thought before being killed was…

WHY IN THE BLOODY HELL IS THE SUN SO GODDARN BRIGHT?

Basic abilities

Wolfgang never learned how to use a weapon until he was around 20 years old. By then, he self-taught how to use a sword after he self-exiled from his own kingdom. Wolfgang is generally balanced, but believes that he has better speed than strength. While his stamina is nothing exceptional, what surprises a lot of people is his great resistance to pain & damage in general.

Sirius [ Rival ]

Sirius and Wolfgang were rivals ever since they were children because of their parents’ rivalry. Wolfgang considered Sirius as a rival because the latter was praised for his potential as a king and as someone who would end the wars. Sirius, on the other hand, considered Wolfgang as a friend rather than as a rival. They also had competitions so that they could determine who's better, but most of them ended up in draws. When Sirius started dating Irene, Wolfgang distanced himself from him and gave up being his rival for a while.

Irene [ Love interest ]

Princess Irene was the one Wolfgang wanted for himself. Her beauty was something he had never seen before and he admired how outspoken she was about peace despite Cytus generally preferring wars. Wolfgang spent a lot of his time trying to learn about Irene to eventually be able to ask her out. Unfortunately, she prefered dating Sirius, which was a rejection he took so badly he exiled from his own kingdom.
