Kinja is one of the 3 Guards from Hell. He's the youngest of them. Like the other Guards, his duty is to keep the Gates of Hell save, and as responsible as Kina is, he takes his task very serious and literally. The Gate he's watching over is hidden inside a forest between several trees close to each other. While the other Guards make some exceptions and aren´t watching their Gates as carefully as they should, Kinja never let´s anyone pass the Gates until he is proven that they are allowed, which causes Trouble very often, when Demons want to return to home and have to go through Kinja first, he tends to take his task too literally. This is a reason, why everyone tends to avoid Kinja and are annoyed by him. Kinja is a very reserved person, who doesn't show his emotions as he wants to keep distance to others. He is calm person and more of an introvert who enjoys to just be alone. When talking to others he tried not to talk too much and says only what is needed to say. Kinja is a neutral Person, he is neither on Heavens nor on Hells side and also not on the Humans side. Because he is a very closed Person and barely talks, nobody knows anything about his past - beside the other 2 Guards.
Kinja used to be a Human a very long time ago, until he died when he was 32 Years old, when he got caught up in a satanic ritual he unwillingly got to be part of. It escalated and Kinja was one of the Victims killed by a Demon. He was not accepted into Heaven for his actions and during this time, Hell was pure Chaos because of a war with Angel, which caused an Accident, which led to his Souls also not managing to enter Hell so he was one of the Lost Souls remaining on Earth. Being alone for such a long time, completly forgotten, was pure Torture to the Soul. By a happy Coincidence he managed to get in contact with a powerful Magician, who helped him out by telling him that there was one Option to return to the Living as a Worker for Hell. Kinja´s main Goal was to escape the Loneliness, so he considered that Option. It was a hard long way, with many Tasks he had to fulfill, including tricking Heaven and getting all of the Kings of Hell Approval, but in the end he managed to come back as a new Person, as a Guard of Hells Gate. After he turned into his current Him, he lost all Memories of his Past, since it was a Condition of the 1st King Paimon. His Memories were hidden in all Parts of the Human World. Since the other Guards, who know his Story, are forbidden to tell him about his past life, he has an empty place inside of him and is secretly craving to regain his Memories. But he gave himself the Promise to never leave the Gate and fulfill his Duty, so he never went looking for them.

Funumai is one the few ones, who deals with Kinja at free will. He loves to tease Kinja a lot and is rather amused than annoyed by Kinjas Attitude. Often Funumai tries to deceive Kinja to go and look for his Memories and leave his Gate. He´s the closest thing to a friend, that Kinja has. Funumai leaves his Gate unguarded very often and leaves to visit Kinja or others. In the Beginning Kinja used to preach Funumai about his Duties and was angry for such a laid back approach of Funumai, but over time Kinja gave up and started just accepting it, sometimes even enjoying Funumai´s company.
