Adelheide

Synopsis: The daughter of a human mother and vampire aristocrat, Adelheide is a dhampir raised in the safety of a truce between her father and the neighboring village. When the truce is broken, the villagers hire Vampire Hunter D to kill both noble and daughter. Spared by D and rescued by a farmhand, Dieter, together Adelheide and Dieter travel the Frontier as vagabonds, taking on the odd job or bounty hunt to sustain their lifestyle.

Adelheide is sweet-natured, idealistic, and naive. Unlike other dhampirs, she was born without sight and has a weak constitution; however, she possesses suprahuman intellect, smell, and hearing as well as latent psychic abilities of undetermined proportions… She takes simple pleasures in the small things – soft grass under her feet, recounting stories with Dieter, singing a song on a cool night.
