Fergus BrambleClaw

Fergus is not your typical ferocious owlbear. During an incredibly harsh winter he came across an elfling. One might think a starving cold owl bear would gobble up any opportunity to eat.  But somewhere in his muddled owlbear mind or maybe it was his instincts that told him he could not survive alone this winter, so instead of eating the elf child he protected it and worked together with it to survive. Upon the arrival of spring the elf child thanked the owlbear for his help. And offered the owlbear a gift. The elf child was in fact not an elf at all, but rather a lesser deity from the feywild. It bestowed the owlbear a name Fergus of the BrambleClaw grove. Upon gaining a name the owlbear was gifted with higher sentience and self awareness. He was no longer just a dangerous forest beast but an intelligent conscious creature how had gained the ability of speech. The fey deity then vanished into a flash of green light.

 Thus begin Fergus’s big adventure as he had many un answered questions and found great fascination in the world around him, in particular his discovery of humanoid cultures/ societies. He did find that they don’t usually take to kindly to a large owlbear just strolling through the front gates of a town. So he had to come up with a disguise for himself, using a carved would mask and heavy ragged cloaks to cover him self.
